The first time i asked myself this, it seemed slightly absurd. But now i'm considering it quite seriously. You see, i was one of those idiots who bought a Gamecube, so there were so many awesome games of the sixth-generation consoles that i missed. And looking back there are so so many PS2 games that i'd kill to play like: Sly 2, ICO, Kingdom Hearts, Shadow of Colossus, some final fantasy games, Shin Megami series and more.
Also, not only do i really want to play the PS2 games i never got the chance to, but i've also had bery little enjoyment with my 360. I don't care for playing online or for achievements and really there haven't been any games on this generation of consoles that i've enjoyed that much, except for maybe Mass Effect (which i can play on PC anyway) and Condemned 2. When i look back at the sixth-generation and even fifth-generation consoles they just had so many games that i enjoyed, but nowadays not so much.
So what are peoples thougts? I mean, i was rather impulsive in buying a 360 in the first place, so i don't want to be just as impulsive in selling it and then possibly regretting it. Also, if i did, what would be the best way to do it. Trade in at EB games? Selling and buying on Ebay? Thanks
*Note: Btw, now i just realised i put 'seel' instead of 'sell' in the title, so you don't need to point it out ;).

Yeah, the next month is a big month for games coming out, but i still just feel this doubt that any of them will really grab me that much. It's not that i hate the games on 360, because i don't mind GTA IV, Fallout 3 etc, but not to the extent of previous generation console games. I was somewhat looking forward to like Fight Night Round 4 and Batman Arkham Asylum, but i'm not sure.

I guess you dont have alot of cash to throw around as the ps2 seems really cheap atm, and you could probably pick up a 2nd hand one for even cheaper...

I don't know about selling the X360, but you should definitely get a PS2. Best console ever, IMO.

Oh, I'm going to point out your seel.

I'm kind of surprised you don't already own a PS2.

Objectively, the ps2 is the better console and does still have games coming out for it, but how are you going to heat your house without an Xbox?

Yeah, well as i said i was one of those tools who bought a Gamecube, and whilst i have some spare cash for games, i've never bought more than one console in the same generation. Lol, about heating the house, 360 is noisy bugger, even after installing games to the hard drive. I wouldn't really care for new games coming out on PS2, just for all the older ones that i missed out on.

Yeah i don't really have cash just hanging around to be buying multiple consoles, but also i'm fairly fickle in the sense that i hate having something around if it's not being used. Part of my obsessive compulsive nature. So even though a second hand PS2 would only cost like 120 bucks or so, i just couldn't stand the thought of having a 360 around that doesn't get used.

You can save, buy a PS3 and not have to kiss good-bye to most of the next-gen games and just play those PS2 games on it's BC.

If you are a PC gamer (I just got that from your Mass Effect comment) then you can either switch the 360 for a PS3, or keep the 360 and use an emulator on your comp.

You're probably better off with the emulator. Having to sell a console is a pain and probably not worth it if you could use an emulator.

I thought about that also. I am also a PC gamer, so the emulators is a good idea thanks, though i didn't think that PS2 emulators were particularly high quality, or that they don't have many games. I guess because i'm a tad strapped for cash at the moment (well actually, it's just more that i'm a cheapass lol) even after selling my 360 they'd still be a high price for the getting the PS3. I guess i'd be leaning that way if i was still really into alot of the newer games, but i'm just not for some reason.

Dont knock the Gamecube. It was the last thing old Nintendo did right.

There arnt any decent emulators for PS2's or 360s for that matter.

Well, I got my PS2 about two years after it was released for about $120 used, I would hope the cost would be far less now. I see no reason to sell your 360 for it. It has some good games, but I found I got more value out of my Gamecube. It's not a bad system, and there's some really good games for it, but I can't see a reason why you couldn't put aside twenty dollars for five months and buy one instead of pawning a current gen console.

Sry, i'm just venting about not getting a PS2. It's not a bad console or anything, it actually had quite good grahpics and probably my favourite controller, but there were just so many good games that were exclusive to PS2, Xbox or both that i missed out on. And please don't somebody say i should've bought both, i just really don't like the idea of buying more than one console for each generation.

I think most of the PS2 emulators are rubbish, and you need a really beefy computer to use them and they have very few games anyway. I think there's a PS1 emulator but it's pretty fidly, and there's also decent N64 emulator. this site is probably the best for emulators: http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/n64/. Don't know about a good site for roms though, seeming as most of them are pretty sus.

The PS2 is a fine system, but I'd say keep the 360 and purchase a used PS2 is anything. There will be plenty of games coming out in the future and slew of good games from the past.

PS2 is cheap as dirt these days... do you really need to sell your 360 to afford it? oh, and another option is to try and find a second-hand 60 gb PS3, since they have backwards compatability
