FF7 with its Graphics updated and no content change for PS3 and xbox 360 would probably sell at least a million copies in this day and age. People who were big fans of the game or bought it when it was no longer compatible with graphics cards or never finished the story would probably get it.

If it were just the same game with better graphics, then it would be not be worth it. They would need to include new dialouge, an improved battle system and better mini-games. It's basically like Duke Nukem Forever, it would be practicaly nowhere near good enough for the rabid expectations.

i really dont see how it would be that hard to, MOST of the main characters, have been remade in kingdom hearts 1/2 and ff dissidia or the other ff spin offs, hell even the movies, so they would already have good rendered 3D drawings/videos to go off of, and they already have the main storyline, so building off of that would be flying cake for the most part. Honestly i like the semi turn based action, thats why i love replaying 7 and 9 and (going to be soon 6), its alot of fun for me personally, having real time stuff isn't always fun, especially when you have to go off screen and shit to get monsters to re appear.

im indifferent mostly, if they made it, hell yes i would probably buy it and like it (hopefully they wouldn't change too much) , but if they dont make it, no big deal really, they are still spittin out other good stuff that i like so im fine with it.

i really dont see why people are getting up in arms about it, raging over this really doesn't seem logical... but whatever floats your boat i suppose.

No.

Why?

Evidence cited:
-Advent Children (gargles balls)
-Dirge of Cerberus (chokes panda balls AND dick at the same time)

Is that really the direction a FF7 remake should go? No.
Is that the direction it would go if Squeenix started development today?
Yes. Without question.

So my answer is a solid 'No'.

A WORLD MAP IS WHAT MAKES A RPG A RPG!!!!!!!!!On topic you are wrong FF7 could make it.I am a FF9 fan and even I want a re-make of 7.FF7 was the first game one the PS1 and looks like shit then and now.It does need a re-make and Square-Enix needs to take there heads out of there ass's and make a good Final Fantasy game.If Square-Enix wants to make a realistic fighting system then they should go to were they put the Star Ocean team and ask them for they have had a great fighting system from the SNES age. Then go to were they put the Dragon Quest and ask them how to make a world map for Square-Enix and the Final Fantasy team have forgot how two make ether.

P.S. FINAL FANTASY 9 WAS THE LAST GREAT GAME AND FF7 WAS OK....and yet I still want a re-make of FF7 FF9 is ok asis.

Mediocre game gets fancy new paint job.

Doesn't change what the core of it is.

If FF7 got 'remade', it'd more or less need to be a reboot.
That was some pretty hard trolling right up front.

OT: No. It would end up if they tried to remake ghostbusters (the first one).
No trolling. Serious.

FF7 was a mediocre letdown.

Even if I did think FF7 was amazing, I still wouldn't want a remake.

Remakes never capture the original nostalgia. Not to mention i would just rather them to spend that time making a new and amazing game.

It is one of my favorite games and I'd buy it if they remade it, but they don't need to. Even if it was the exact same only redone with voice actors, uncensored (or at least the words that would get it an M-rating removed and the rest uncensored), and updated graphics, it would be amazing.

Mostly personal opinion. I loved it, but I also thought Dragon Age, Halo, MW2, and a bunch of other really popular games were generic and boring, yet some people love them...

I'd rather they remake FF10 so I can link to that scene of Tidus and Yuna laughing again and cause everyone to go FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

a flat simple No. if people want to play the game. DL it on PSN or go hunting for it. Maybe some of the younger gamers will understand the whole concept of story over graphics and wont rush to the next prettiest POS that is released
I agree. In fact, I've already got it downloaded from PSN. Anytime I need a FF7 fix I know where to go. Sure the graphics aren't good by today's standards (and at times my eyes want to bleed), but the whole game was great.

And I agree with this post, as well. At least, partially. Yes, I'm odd and I have mixed emotions about remaking one of my favorite games, but I agree to some level here.

If SE was to remake FF7, they would have to revamp it. Update the graphics, the story, add some extra scenes for the hardcore, improve the battle system, and maybe a few other things.

Then, I think: How much could they change and not ruin the entire game? And how many people would scream bloody murder just because they changed a minor detail ("they zipped up Yuffie's pants?") or changed some minor system in the game (like how you learn limits) that they claim can't be changed?

At the end of the day, I say they should just leave it alone. Less of a headache for everyone.
