Should you brag about your IQ?

I personally think bragging about IQ is one of those things that very quickly makes you look like a dick. I scored 160 on a psychologist IQ test when I was young to get into this gifted child thing, but I haven't told any of my friends about it, and I'm sure none of them would really care.

It's supposed to be a measure of your capacity to learn, not how much you know. If you have a high IQ, use it to do something worth bragging about. It isn't an accomplishment in itself.

Is it really something to brag about, it's just the way your brain is built up. Also, feel free to tell your results if you know them. *ironically* It's not like I want any bragging, just want to know how high the average Escapist has.

Seriously, if there's one thing guaranteed to make you look stupid, it's bragging about your IQ. Especially when you've calculated your IQ from an non-standardised test on the internet. I've seen people on here bragging about having an IQ of 180-200, which, given that IQ is meant to be standardised through a normal distribution across the population, is nonsense.

Agreed. The worst was when someone on here claimed that IQ which was on a standardised test, then said there was no proof of it to show, even though he would have been one of the smartest people on the planet and obviously would have had some kind of proof somewhere.

But either way yes, IQ is nothing to brag about, and will make you look like an ass if you do so.
