I don't like pictures of myself. I don't think I'm particularly ugly or anything, I just don't like pictures of me. So I rarely have them taken, let alone put them on a site. It's as simple as that. I'm the same person online that I am in real life: same interests, same personality, same values. Just because I'd rather have my profile picture be Sokka than myself does not mean that I am trying to hide myself.

Beyond that, there's the whole thing about stalkers on the internet. I'm not paranoid about it, not by a long shot, but that doesn't mean I'm going to go posting my picture around everywhere.

I find it interesting that this topic recieved so much action... wasn't expecting this. Well I suppose I'll try and answer questions or comments made that I can recall off the top of my head.
To the people who are afraid of stalkers ect. this is understandable but not really since I'm fairly sure you don't have to disclose your street address or even your name... but your choice is your own.
To the people claiming they are ugly. Well I'm not (by far) the best looking human example but I am still proud of who I am, you should be too.
To the people claiming I'm a self involved douche. First part is true but then again who isn't? and as for the second part I am an ass not a douche (or possibly a whore... it all depends).
To the people saying I don't use my name... that is only partially correct, Der Deutch Machine is a nickname I've been given, but if you're really curious my name is Jon... not the most exciting name right?
To the others with legit reasons... I really stopped caring about the second sentance in here soooo yeah.
Thanks for the posts though, it's been a learning experience.

Seriously, thats just one of two real pics of me on facebook, and (god knows why) i wanted to appear professional for showing myself to the Escapist community.

:O Someone should make a 'suited up' thread with this similar sort of thing in mind. Showcasing all the awesome manly suitedness that we have on the escapist. I'm not starting it though. All my threads die out.
