Skeleton Warriors. Possibly also WildC.A.T.S., though the obvious link to the comic might invalidate it.

I didn't have actual TV when I was extremely young, so I was stuck watching mostly PBS until around 5th grade. That being said, I watched a LOT of Arthur, Bill Nye The Science Guy, The Magic School Bus (which I see has already been mentioned), Kratts' Creatures (before they went and made Zoboomafoo), Wishbone, Redwall, etc.

EDIT: Oh, and of course Mister Rodger's Neighborhood...

They're not shows but they're pretty iconic for the 90's, at least anyone who was born in 1990 anyway. What am I talking about? Well Toy Story and Space Jam of course.

As for shows.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
50-50
Fun House.
Supermarket Sweep.
Art Attack.
Get your own Back.
Pinky and the Brain.
The Demon Headmaster.
Bernard's Watch.
The Queen's Nose.
Hey Arnold.
Batman (whichever one was on in the 90's).
The Chuckle Brothers.
Sooty and Sweep.
Thomas the Tank Engine.
Fireman Sam.
Post Man Pat.
The Power Puff Girls.
Dexter's Laboratory.
The Flintstones.
Scooby Doo.

P.S they'll always be Opal Fruits not Starburst!

I'll just finish with what was synonyms of my childhood.

Some weird obscure shows I still have rather found memories of.
I remember all but Super Pig. I tried to look that up a while ago but I couldn't find anything.

Does anyone remember Tokyo Pig? Or Monster Farm? or the Monster farm that wasn't an anime?

there is this one other show I remember but I can't think of the name at all.

Robot wars. Basically, a bunch of smart manchildren would construct ugly lumps of machinery and pit them against each other in a grungy arena, presided over by a jokey commentator and a wisecracking presenter whilst heavy metal played in the background. The construction area was toured by a female co-presenter that everyone no doubt had "impure" thoughts about.

Loved every second of it.

As the advert for the first series put it: "chaos, distraction and Jeremy Clarkson". (Only for series 1, though. Jezza was replaced with Craig Charles from then on until the end)

And what's more, is that it kick started my interest in science and technology. It wasn't all dumb fun, they went in great depths about the mechanics of their machines, which fascinated me to no end and in fact still does.

Does "90's kid" refer to someone who was born in the 1980s and grew up in the 90's, or someone who was born in the 90's and was therefore too young to remember or appreciate anything that happened durinng that decade? I never understand this term.

Anyway, Eek the Cat and Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (the best one), I guess.
Usually, 90's kid refers to someone who grew up through the 90s. I was born in 1980, but I'm considered a 90s kid.

Which brings up a different question, really: I still adore many shows from the 1980s, shows which might be lost on older and younger people. Does Galaxy Rangers fit the bill, for example?

To be less anal, though, tons of stuff in the 90s was enjoyable, though I'm never sure what niche is. A lot of the shows named in this thread are ones I hear "kids" talking about. So I'll just unapologetically list some of my favvourites:

Darkwing Duck. One of the best theme songs EVAR, BTW.
ReBoot. Side note, pleeeeeease don't screw up the new series, people.
Dinosaurs. I can still watch this over and over and over.
Seaquest DSV.
Sonic Sat AM
Animaniacs (which probably is partialy to blame for my twisted sense of humour)
Bonkers
Batman: TAS
Gargoyles. Gargoyles Gargoyles Gargoyles.

Ghostbusters (by which I presume you mean The Real Ghostbusters) belongs to us 80s kids, and we won't let you forget it.

It's kind of a Sailor Moon parody, where instead of a magical girl the protagonist turns into... a pig.

Freakazoid, Swat Kats, Gargoyles...

OK; I'm an 80s kid, but I enjoyed those thoroughly. Ah, they don't make them like they used to...

*puts on jade-tinted goggles and sneers derisively*
I don't remember Swat Kats but I was a big fan of those other two. I guess Animaniacs doesn't count since they still show that.
If you're from the 90s you may remember Liquid TV (a show of animated shorts on Mtv) and are more likely to remember the big shows that were spawned from it: Bevis & Butthead as well as Aeon Flux. I liked those shows but Liquid TV had some other (really rallly) weird stuff too.
I was usually running around at night but I do remember Mystery Science Theater 3000- if you don't know what it is, check it out on netflix now. I also remember loving Jon Stewart's old late night talk shows (before he did the Daily Show he had a couple of less successful shows) and even went to a taping of one.
Anybody here remember Who's the Boss? It started in the 80s but Alyssa Milano really "grew up" in the 90s. I think she's how I realized I have "special feelings" for some girls. I was seriously infatuated with her while I was going through puberty.

I was going to say Courage the Cowardly Dog [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Courage_the_Cowardly_Dog], as I don't know if kids today would appreciate how scary that show could get at times. To this day it remains as one of my favorite western-made animated series's. I know quite a few people on these forums that would agree with me about Courage, but I wouldn't exactly write it off as something today's children wouldn't have fun with.

No, I'm going to have to say Street Sharks [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_sharks].

Why?

It was awesome, that's why.

Incredible. No one has yet mentioned the greatest cartoon series the 90s ever produced? Okay. I'll do it then.

Mighty Max.

YES!! I'm glad SOMEBODY remembered it! I swear, I have soooo many Mighty Max playsets in my basement; fond memories playing with those little, swallowable bastards. XP (Seriously, all of them failed the "toilet paper tube" test: if a toy can fit into a toilet paper tube, then a little kid can either swallow it or choke on it.)

Swat Kats was my favorite show of all time, though. Next to Rocko's Modern Life, Doug, MMPR, both Batman and Superman animated series and pretty much anything off of Toonami. Yes, even Sailor Moon.

P.S. I'm trying to remember the name of a show...Does anyone remember a cartoon about a little kid having a different nightmare with each episode? Looked sorta "Invader Zim"-ish, was really not meant for kids...Anyone?

So lots of shows here I would bring up but have already been mentioned repeatedly. So I'm going to mention two nobody else has.

BattleTech (1993)

Yes, this WAS a 90's show believe it or not. Yes there's a few errors in research made. Yes, the show isn't exactly a 100% reflection of the BattleTech board game. However, for it's time (and even today) it still holds up to a degree. It even says a lot that the events of the show were integrated into BattleTech Canon (namely, Adam Steiner got a role during the Word of Blake stuff in later years, and there was at least one BattleTech sourcebook devoted to the 1st Summerset Strikers).

Exo Squad (also 1993)

I should start by saying I'm not a big fan of this one. I think like SWAT Kats and a few other shows I put on my "not dated very well" list, it's something I have to have seen at the time. For that, you can blame my folks not getting Cable until I was in Secondary School, and furthermore I was British - I don't think Exo Squad was ever broadcast over here because of our rather Draconian stance on censorship at the time (quick fact - the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles over here were called the Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles instead at the time, because of some perceived violence around the word of something because Britain is a country that feeds on stupidity and misery).

Anyway, but for it being extremely heavy handed in it's allegory (the antagonists are so Nazi Germany it hurts) and it's rather unwieldy characterization, I will acknowledge this was probably the spiritual Predecessor to Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles (which I DID get to see as a 90's Kid).

Also, not sure if these count or not, but why have Shadow Raiders and (the original) Max Steel gone unmentioned? X3

Courage was an awesome cartoon because it didn't fucking care. It was what it was and if you didn't like it or got scared, there was plenty of other stuff to do.

To this day, I still have trouble watching the Barber episode and the Mummy episode. Those are some of the scariest writing I've ever seen, even now that I'm 24. You could say that the show was.... Naughty
