i might see it.

if the internet tells me to, that is.
Just like how I killed that man last night because the internet told me to.

OT: Everything is like everything else. I mean Tranformers is like Voltron. Matrix is like every other action movie. Avatar is like Dances with Wolves. Really if you want something original go back in time and create it yourself then it will be otherwise don't complain. I really didn't get a Twilight vibe from the trailer when I saw it I thought of a darker re-imagined version of Red Riding Hood and that was it.

I don't know, I didn't get a huge Twilight vibe from the trailer. I thought it looked both pretty poor and worth a look, depending on the scene. I don't know if I'm gonna go see it or not, because I actually saw a trailer for the first Twilight and didn't think it looked bad., That really didn't turn out too well for me at all. So maybe I'll wait to see some more trailers and see what reviews say

I'm going to go right ahead and take the absolute opposite stand point here. I reckon this movie has great potential and hints at a cool looking film.
Here's what I want you to do:
Go back and re-watch that trailer.
When it gets to 0:46 close your eyes.
Reopen them 2 seconds later.

Now what do we have?
We're left with a gritty reboot of a centuries old classic fairytale which was, in itself, quite horrifying re-shot as a hostage/entraped style film (think, Dog Soliders, 30 Days of Night).
There's a love interest in there too but, unlike Twilight, this one seems to cast the characters as humans with wants and needs (0:50) where Twilight did its best to repress these.
And it is directed by a film-maker with a list of quite notable films to his name which, and here is the kicker, don't bear heavy resemblance to one another.

So let's not cast this film in to the fire because they decided to cash in on the fact that there's thousands of viewers out there who will blindly see this film because the word TWILIGHT was on screen for a second and then leave feeling sullied, ripped off and slightly dirty and instead look at it as what it is - A stand alone film that deserves to be judged on its own merits.

...You know, it's not perverted and weird enough.

They should do a movie of Red Riding Hood - the Oral Tradition (where Red Riding Hood narrowly escapes wolf rape, Grandma does not survive, she flees back to the city afraid, naked, and with a wolf chasing her...)
And certain jackasses think video games are violent. When was the last time you heard of video games based around wolf rape? Or starving children wandering in the forest where a witch tries to kill and eat them?
"The Path" and "American McGee's Grimm" respectively.

BUT STILL.

*Wheeps while he picks up shards of his childhood*

Why?

WHY?!

Oh right, money.

Can't really judge it without the final product, but I predict the worst.

Let me check...

1. The male and female leads are both cold, emotionless shells white as the driven snow

2. The female lead is a sociopath who doesn't seem to fit in or give a shit about any other human being around her

3. The male lead is a gigantic tosser with mystical powers.

4. Extremely vague and unexplainable action scenes.

Yep.

Well, the trailer sure looks like twilight, and it has the same director, but really, that doesn't mean anything. And besides, it has Gary Oldman in it, I don't think I've ever seen a film with Gary Oldman I disliked, so yeah, I'll watch it.

It's got the same director, and it's really obvious that it's cashing in on it. I think it will be the next Twilight, but with about a tenth of the popularity.

On the topic of Twilight-I'd like to see Stephanie Meyers and Bram Stoker talk.
SM:So I made a novel about vampires too
BS:Did you?
SM: Ya-but I changed it so the vampires are all sparkily and mostly don't like killing humans and are great at driving and-
BS:*interupts*Go f*ck yourself *proceeds to kill SM*

OT: This is just bad. How many more of our traditional fairy tales need to be ruined by today? Soon they'll remake the three little pigs and have the wolf just a misunderstood man wanting to be friends or something.

Let's get rid of the title 'little red riding hood' and replace the red cloak with say ... white, or green or blue.

Would anyone be able to tie this trailer with little red if we did?

My guess is no.
Damn you for being right...I'm sure any colorblind person will think-"Oh a girl who falls in love with a werewolf and doesn't know its a werewolf"...and then they see the title and think "red? what color is that?" but probably-"This is terrible remake"

I could care less whether or not it turns out to be the next Twilight, I just have one simple question.

Where the fuck do you get any of this movie from the actual story?!
Apart from the girl having an insanely long red cloak and the presence of a wolf (kinda) I don't see any resemblence to the fairy tale.
That troubles me, more than anything, because it proves that with enough estrogen and insanity you could turn anything into a Twilight style love story.

Hmm

Nah, that could never happen... could it?
Dear god... please don't let it happen!
