Sick of what people think about me cause I watch anime

I only watch a little bit of anime, and some of it I can share because it's easy for other people to see WHY I like it.
If they're anything I've learned, unless it's part of your job, don't care what other people think about you. Even if it is part of your job, don't let it consume you.

I think the reason anime has developed a creepy rep is that most of the girls in it are visually indicitave of pre pubescent kids.
I don't know much about it, I have Akira, Perfect Blue and Ghost in the Shell and they're all great.
But you cannot deny that some of those girls are just... wrong.

Welcome to the same problem pretty much 90% of anime fans have had. But who cares? Why not just let them think it? I mean, you obviously don't care for the people saying it. Funny, my problem is the opposite. When at work I would study my Japanese on breaks and my co-workers would ask if I watched anime. Since I don't they would become very confused and ask why I bother learning the language, like that's all there is in Japan.
When i was little like 8 or nine 9 i used to watch alot like, Rouroni Kenshin(Samuria X), Cowboy Bebop, DBZ, Gundam, Yu Yu Hakisho(or however you spell it i don't really care.), and i used to watch a couple others the movies they made with them. Ironically its the kids now and the kinds that they watch now, along with the way they obsess with it that makes me not to watch even the ones i liked
So by your standards, watching any 11 anime's is fine but if you go over that makes you fucking gay!? And why is being gay a bad thing now? Should be careful cause I think that talk will get you on probabtion.park92 said:

People will always be hostile to things they don't understand. Personally, I don't care what someone says when I say I like anime. If they make a big deal about it and be a dick, I'm not going to hang around them because they're being a dick. It's not always that simple, I have some friends who don't like anime. But friendship is not based on liking the same things. If it is, then you're just a spineless twit trying desperately to be popular and that only works in high school.
I think he was saying that it's gay after you turn 13 years old, It's kinda hard to tell out of all the horrible grammar. Though I understand where people like him come from, it's born largely from an ignorance into the subject and no willingness to learn. It's the same for every fucking subculture out there. And it's not helped by people like the OP kicking the dead horse for no reason. THIS THREAD IS JUST WHINING! If you have a point to bring up. a new idea to bring forth. or simply want to make informative point, by all means go ahead. Possibly a 10 year old that has a lot of growing up to do so don't loose faith in humanity because of that, loose your faith cause the fact Jonas Brothers are popular.
