Asking people to put spoiler tags into their posts isn't enough. I had Bioshock 2 spoiled for me because someone posted nothing but an unlabeled spoiler tag, which just as annoying as getting something spoiled directly. If you are going to spoil something put it into a spoiler tag AND LABEL THE FUCKING SPOILER TAG OR AT LEAST TELL US WHAT YOU'RE SPOILING!

I never got why people care about spoilers. I don't. You can flat-out retell me the whole movie/book and I'll still watch it/read it despite knowing what's going to happen. All I care about is how it happens and whatever you tell me, you can't go over every detail, so I'll still have something to gain.
Honestly spoilers have never bothered me that much either.Yes it can be annoying if someone reveals the major twist but if a game/movie is good enough then I'll still watch/play it without feeling like anything's been ruined

Some people get waaay too worked up over perceived spoilers though.I was reading a review of Limbo on another site.During the review he mentioned an incident that happens in the game. Now this thing happens early on,lasts only a couple of seconds and has no bearing on the game whatsoever yet the comments section was full of people raging that he ruined the game for them and should be fired

Seriously!!You're complaining because you clicked on a spoiler tag and it spoiled something.I really hope you're joking because otherwise this is the most ridiculous complaint I've heard in a while

Spoilers ruled KotOR for me, and therefor I feel that I should spoil everything for everyone!

But seriously, spoiler tags are easy to use and should be used, when in doubt, tag it!

If I'm playing a new game, I tend to stay away from any threads with the possibility of there being a spoiler. I especially don't click on threads with, say, Dragon Age 2 in the title when I'm making my way through Dragon Age 2.

I very rarely have anything spoiled. And to be fair, it can be difficult with older games. The general assumption is that if you haven't played something like Mass Effect in the 4 years since its release, you're unlikely to now.

i thought this place was pretty good for putting up spoilers (as in the boxes or warning beforehand), or maybe it's just that i've read spoilers but not been fussed about knowing so it's not a big deal. if i find out what happens at the end of Skyward Sword before i get to play it the heads will roll!
Link uses the triforce and the master sword to defeat Ganon. Doesn't get any from the Princess.

While I definitely agree newer games will have a much better emotional reaction when friends on forums are careful about their spoiler-talk, I don't know what to say about older games. I honestly think it would be very difficult to get the entire internet to put FF7's one big spoiler in spoiler tags from now on; it's practically accepted as common knowledge by a lot of people at this point.

Your best bet? Play obscure games, like me! Then there are so few people talking about them, you don't know what's going to happen.

And no matter how old they get, NO ONE will ever openly discuss spoilers without spoiler tags for the most spoil-able game series in history, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.
