If it matters that much to you to get the achievement then you may as well cut down the time playing something you don't enjoy. However, I think you should stand by your morals, don't cheat and get Heavy Rain - a game you will enjoy.

I´ve made my choice, i´ll get Heavy rain, draw a mustach on the big daddy poster in my room, and forever remember this as the worst multiplayer ever.

If it is possible to get an achievement like that one would have to question the merit of that achievement in the first place.

Since it's not cheating, but exploitation, I see nothing wrong with it. Hurry up to, Heavy Rain is awesome.

Alright, look. You posted "on teh internets" asking a bunch of people what they thought about your problem. Maybe six months of being a member wasn't enough for you to figure out that generally the gamers here do not like cheating in any form although you will find a few who don't care either way. Additionally, you clearly do not like the backlash you've gotten but you do realize that opening up to the world wide web is giving everyone permission to tell you exactly what they think about your issue.

I'm sorry if you're a trifle offended because everyone thinks you're nuts, but let's face it: you asked people who take gaming very seriously if you should cheat in order to get something that has no hard value in real life. In multiplayer, no less, where cheating is if anything more wrong than in the single player. Honestly, WTF did you expect?

1 - if you needed an online community's acceptance of your decision to do something (much less something with no real-life consequence) then you, sir, need to take a hard look at your own morals and standards. If it's a moral crisis for you then let me give you a big hint - doing something wrong because everyone else is doing it still makes it wrong and no amount of peer acceptance will make it right.

2 - gaming is for fun unless it's for money and then it should still be fun at the end of the day. If you're not having fun with your game, then get a different game.

I'm sorry things aren't going the way you expected, but seriously, what a bunch of strangers think about your decisions doesn't mean a hill of beans and looking for answers from them was not the best move. Close the chapter and move on. I realize this makes my advice (being a stranger on the internet) less effective but I can't really help that. At least I'm trying to explain it to you.

EDIT: Saw your reply was made after I was done writing, so I was ninja'd in the end. Good for you, though.

Get a hobby, you have just turned a console fps into a mmorpg for yourself congratulations enjoy the trial and tribulation of grinding for data that you cannot even back up in any form and will ultimatley be pointless when your 360 bricks itself. Personaly can think of 100 better ways to spend hours of my life.

If this is a big moral problem to you, you need to get a life, and thus more important problems... Why would you give so much importance to getting the bragging rights that you completed something you didn't enjoy?

I know that this might be perceived as offensive, but maybe you've reached a point were gaming is unhealthy to you. You should reconsider the way you see video games or take a short break from your consoles.
Yeah I was just about to say...this isn't a moral issue and I think the OP is either confused about their choice of words or is living an awesome life that any normal person would be jealous of.....

Don't do it.

Why waste time playing a game you hate? Also, Boosting is annoying in game. Don't piss off others trying to have an honest game.

What's an achievement anyway? I saw some of them popping up in Dragon Age. Is a rather silly sport.

But if it gets you a copy of Heavy Rain, it seems like a lucky circumstance.

It isn't wrong if it is available and can be used (unless it's to the degree of say the javelin glitch) I won't say no but then again if you hate it I don't see why your trying to toil over an achievement that you'll easily get the trophy equivalent within around the first hour of playing heavy rain (I havent played it but thats what Im assuming)

Personally, I wouldn't want to earn an achievement via boosting. Sure, you'd get a few points, but you do realize that the badge remains a perpetual haunting reminder of your failure to earn it legitimately?

No, if I encounter something the developers make too boring to get, I just write it off. Then, when I see other people have that badge later, it's their badge of shame for choosing to grind that boring crap, not mine.

(P.S. You can't blame most people for their reaction to a message entitled "I'm having a moral dilemma," expecting something juicy, only to be disappointed it's about a BioShock 2 achievement. You need to think of your audience when writing thread subjects.)

As you may already know, i hate the multiplayer on Bioshock 2, or rather, despise it for the rotten bag of **** that it is, but sadly, someone on 2K had the brilliant idea of putting achivments for getting to level 40. And if you have played the MP on BS2, you know how frustrating it can be. So im thinking of betraying all my normal morals and.....Boost. Now, don´t get me wrong, im not the guy who boosts to get an advantage over other players, no. The second i hit level 40, im done. Never playing this again. Trading it in for Heavy Rain. So, what im asking is, should i boost or just give up and trade it in in defeat? Give me a reason for both please, im so conflicted.
FALSE!!! WRONG WRONG WRONG! bioshock 2 multiplayer is fantastic...best their has been in a while, just so much fun! Anyway i only tend to go for achievements that mean something not how long you play MP for.

Also anyone who cheats and runes games for others is an anal ****

Wait, wait, wait...

You don't like the multiplayer in BioShock 2, yet you feel obligated to reach the top level? Simply because it will increase your Gamerscore? Well, if it means that much to you, then boost. No big deal, I mean, if you don't even want to play the multiplayer where's the harm in cheating? You aren't ruining the experience for anyone else by doing it if you don't plan on using your advantages.

I am a bit perplexed by your apparent hatred of the BS2 Multiplayer, it's actually pretty damn fun once you warm up to it.

This, you gamerscore whore! Hehe!

Seriously tho... why bother doing something you really don't like, when you could go, start playing a different game and earn more achievements that way?
