Alright, look. You posted "on teh internets" asking a bunch of people what they thought about your problem. Maybe six months of being a member wasn't enough for you to figure out that generally the gamers here do not like cheating in any form although you will find a few who don't care either way. Additionally, you clearly do not like the backlash you've gotten but you do realize that opening up to the world wide web is giving everyone permission to tell you exactly what they think about your issue.
I'm sorry if you're a trifle offended because everyone thinks you're nuts, but let's face it: you asked people who take gaming very seriously if you should cheat in order to get something that has no hard value in real life. In multiplayer, no less, where cheating is if anything more wrong than in the single player. Honestly, WTF did you expect?
1 - if you needed an online community's acceptance of your decision to do something (much less something with no real-life consequence) then you, sir, need to take a hard look at your own morals and standards. If it's a moral crisis for you then let me give you a big hint - doing something wrong because everyone else is doing it still makes it wrong and no amount of peer acceptance will make it right.
2 - gaming is for fun unless it's for money and then it should still be fun at the end of the day. If you're not having fun with your game, then get a different game.
I'm sorry things aren't going the way you expected, but seriously, what a bunch of strangers think about your decisions doesn't mean a hill of beans and looking for answers from them was not the best move. Close the chapter and move on. I realize this makes my advice (being a stranger on the internet) less effective but I can't really help that. At least I'm trying to explain it to you.
EDIT: Saw your reply was made after I was done writing, so I was ninja'd in the end. Good for you, though.
