I think one of the biggest signs that I was addicted to video games is when I realized while playing Assassin's Creed a couple months back that the primary reason I got into doing Parkour a few years ago is so that I could do things like what I saw in the Prince of Persia games.

I have had two very bad cases of game vision. The first is with Guitar Hero, and I often finger the songs I hear. The other is with minesweeper. I can lie awake in bed for hours backwards engineering the different mine and number patterns.

Oho, here we go, my own list of insane moments:

1. Played Medal of Honor: Allied Assault in a LAN cafe with my mates for about 6 hours straight. Was walking through the busiest street in town, spotted some movement on a rooftop and promptly threw myself behind the nearest car.

2. Played Deus Ex straight through, then the next day in school tried to activate my vision augmentation to see through walls. When it didn't work my immediate reaction was to search my pockets for a bioelectric energy cell.

3. Tried to instantly turn round by mentally hitting circle to do a forward tumble a la Lara Croft in the old Tomb Raider games.

4. Played Starcraft for a solid week, then freaked out while eating a plate of shrimp in a posh restaurant with my girlfriend because I thought I was being zergling rushed.

Please don't have me sectioned.

i remember dreaming about entering the last cave from pokemon gold/silver (the one where you challenge pokemon trainer red). Every step i gave, a lvl1 lugia would appear for me to catch.

ever since i play guitar hero that i imagine the fret board with the notes passing by whenever i hear a song

when i drive my car, i always lock the doors so that no one steals it (a la GTA)

the the last two have no cure, but i stopped playing games for a week or two after the pokemon dream

Aside from watching my corners whenever I walk up any kind of stairs I always walk up looking backwards instead of forwards. Once again people stare at me and whisper some stuff.

the only thing I ever do is start to play drums when I listen to a song I know on Rock Band, but I play drums, and I did that for songs I knew how to play anyway, so, ya.

Man, reading this makes me feel stunningly sane. I've always kept a very nice separation of videogames and real life. Only thing I've ever done is to walk around more silently for a while after playing through MGS3 in one sitting the minute I got it.

That's probably a good idea depending on where you live.

Thanks to having every game I play keymapped to have the same camera controls, I now try to press 0 to look behind me when walking down the street. I occasionally mutter "Not again.. I need to fix this damn keyboard" when it doesn't work, too.

Once when I was delirious with fever and had taken quite a bit of Nyquil I thought I was in Kotor 2. Nothing really crazy other than that, I seem to be quite sane compared to most of these posts, but locking your doors when you drive is always a good idea, especially if you live near a whole gaggle of Scientologists.

i had a dream about a zomby holocaust thingy, it was really wierd cuz i didnt play any zomby games since my Resident Evil 4 dream where i killed a secret boss and got a lightsaber gun. neways returning to the zomby holocaust, i was going around outside killing zombies with my electric bass and owning zomby dogs turok "knife" style in the face. was really wierd when i decided to go get my friends and have a zomby killing rampage throughout the city.

also i always lock the doors to the car for fear of theft (GTA) and having to walk home

i also took lighter steps after playing splinter cell

always look up aswell, cuz well, snipers lol

avoid "home depot" etc... after watching my friend play manhunt and kill people with stuff u can get there, scared il get owned manhunt style

Also when I'm in a stairwell I'll spin around to check for the bastard with the shotgun.

Whenever I go around corners in my house at night, I always hold out my hands in the shape of a gun and crouch to get the best aim at the zombies. And I can't walk up stairs without checking to see if someone is trailing me. I once dreamt something like I was watching warcraft 3, and all these drawfs glowing different colors like heros were running around and bashing eachother's faces in. It was weird.

Mine are comparatively sane, as they're things that I briefly thought about, as opposed to actually doing anything.

Once in a kickboxing class I took, we repeatedly followed a pattern of "punch, punch, kick". I briefly entertained the thought of "A, A, B."

Sometimes whenever I helped out another person or otherwise did something good, I would be reminded of the message from KoTOR "Light Side Points Gained."

I sometimes adopt the walking style of the protagonist or my favorite character from a game I've recently played (It's wierd finding yourself power hobbling like Frank West or plodding with massive Big Daddy steps)

After playing a ton of Battlefield 1942, I was driving home and I cringed when a jeep drove by thinking it was going to blow me up.

Whenever I play a lot of GTA, then drive I find myself driving a lot faster and more reckless than normal.

I have noticed I look up more often than I used to, always thinking to myself the best route of escape in case snipers start shooting at me.

Also I formulate a Zombie Apocalypse contingency plan for everywhere I live.

I had a dream as a kid that was half Link's Awakening, half Brian Jacques, and half that identity theft movie with Sandra Bullock except she was Marin. Yes, I know that was three halves, it was that surreal.
