I think the amount of money I spend on my games are a big enough sign of addiction. Hell, I quit smoking to open up a little more cash flow for my gaming habit.
Whoot. Power to you, mate. Power to you. Quitting a damn hard habit to kick for gaming is... just... wow.

Anyhoo? Mine's when I suddenly start wondering how much experience I need until I can increase my stat points.

I don't know anything about game design, yet i often try to envision how certain rooms and places would look as shooter levels...or racetracks.

Also, certain everyday objects like pens and such makes me mentally design spaceships in that certain shape. But i think that is just a result of immaturity ^^.

I have to agree with several people here. I get the note vision when I listen to Guitar Hero songs and close my eyes. I also consider the potential defense capabilities of every building I ever go in should the zombie apocalypse start while I'm inside.

Anytime I hear a song I've played on RockBand or any GH, I can close my eyes and see the notes streaming down. My dad looked at me funny when he was giving me a ride somewhere and I started doing the fingering for Metallica - One in the car.

That happens to me on any song, whether it was on GH before or not.

I don't know how many people are addicted to advanced wars but i have a real problem with it, anyways sometimes when i'm walking around outside i start thinking man that would be a great place to put an artillery and i wonder if i should send my recon up to investigate those woods.

I too keep a zombie apocalypse survival plan.

After playing Gears of War, I will occaisonally classify objects based on whether or not they would make good cover and plot a route to keep myself behind that cover. "I could hide behind that tree, flip out, roadie run to that cement pillar" etc.

Rainbow Six has totally corrupted me. I was sitting there thinking about R6V:2 when I started comming up with a breaching plan for the room. I could even imagine the Rainbow operators as they stormed the room taking out imaginary tangos. A freind asked what I was staring at and I of course lied my ass of. People already think I'm crazy enough.

After a brief spree of Carmageddon in my household we now refer to people and objects by their point value when driving. In the past I would argue with my mother about the point value of different people; she would claim an old lady has high point value because it's funnier and I would counter by claiming it's lower point value because she's too easy a target.

My fingers jump to the WASD keys when my computer starts up, as opposed to the home/typing keys.

Well.

During crew for our spring musical, me and another guy will just start imitating Atlas from BioShock.

Example:
"Would you kindlyy bring me the crobahr or sumtin." (Crowbar or wrench)
"This crowbahr or sumptin?"
"Yes, bring me that crowbahr or sumptin."
Me:-freaks out people with the crowbar/wrench as I bring it to him-

Also.

Loud noises have me go into a state of "Who was that fucker I'll shoot him!" and try to take cover from nothing.

Also.

I know dozens of weapons. Before Call of Duty and 4, I knew grenades, tommy guns, M1 Garands, MP40's, Kar95ks, M4's, Colt 1911's, Javelins, RPG's, Bazookas, AK-47's, and Lugers.

Now I know about everything from M9s to MP44s to MP7s to even the being-developed SCAR.

I have a few of these...

When I was younger and in a car I would look outside and kind of see/imagine/ mixture mario from mario 64 jumping from road light to road light doing the diffrent mario noises.

when in a dark room if theres a small light in any room i tend to think and somtimes see (not so much now though) the nija guy from metal gear solid (i think hes called fox lol its been a while)

if im in woods or somthing simlar i think like im playing operation flashpoint somtimes looking at every possible cover and so on.

I used to dream alot about playing deus ex and killing maggie chow in diffrent and ammusing ways...but it was always in third person.

just to clear it up i do this sort of thing with everyhting though... I used to see ghosts of my parents alking towards me in very scary way and somtimes still do, ill be talking to people and thier outfit will change to somthing compleley diffrent or thier hair style will change and so on....so I wouldnt blame games for much of my trippy wierdness - i play game occasionally now and only if i know there really good, so my playing has decreased. I would say its addictive but well done to the person on here who quit smoking for gameing wish i could do that

As an rpg gamer, I sometimes remember situations that didn't go well and think, "ah, well did I save? I could just restart from that point and... crap." There often times when I think about save points and running through things again for different outcomes.

Now this has more to do with the fact that I'm a designer, but my fingers twitch ctrl-z and ctrl-shift-z (undo and redo) quite often. It seems to be especially bad when I've been using a mac for a while since thumb-ring finger is much easier than the Windows pinky-ring.

Before I quit WoW, I went outside one day and it was really foggy. I couldn't see more than about 50 feet and I remember thinking to myself "Wow. I need to turn the draw distance up." I promptly stopped walking and laughed at myself.

I name my consoles. My Wii is Wiiliam, with 2 i's, my DS is Gamien, My DS Lite is Gamien 2 (Gamien squared), my Game Cube is Felix, and... yeah.

Have you ever tried to make puppies fly by pointing?

It's a good thing I've never played any Mortal Konflikt game thing. I volunteer/help out in a Tae Kwon Do studio. I'm a black belt and I teach children various things.
