I think the ultimate sign is when you walk outside your house after a long gaming session, and it's like being birthed all over again. The light, too bright, whats that smell...are those...flowers? And those things scurrying about: other people?

Do I exist?

I switch between my games quite often depending what "the group" is playing. stood stock still in L4D2 because the controlls for bioshock 2 borderlands and cod were the only ones i could think of....

Fail,a car drives through your window and runs you over, killing you.

And thats how my story ends...

Personally, once(only once!) I tried to open my steam browser by pressing Shift+tab, tospite me being in the middle of an English class and no computer in front of me or in the room for that matter

Yeah, I got that when playing WAAAAAAAAAAY too much Silent Hill.
It's Silent Hill, isn't that a given, really?
Well, you could have nightmares of the new Alone in the Dark. I heard people generally do when they're forced to play it :D

Title sums it up perfectly.

First Sign: Hold everything you see in front of your eyes as if you're playing an FPS game

Second Sign: You see dialog trees a' la Mass Effect whenever you are talking to someone.
These actually happen to me sometimes. Often I'll hold my left hand way in front of me as if it's the Master Chief's left hand when holding an Energy Sword in the other hand. Kind of sad, I guess.

I've also been playing a lot of Pokemon Red recently. I went to a bar the other day and when I ordered a pint of Kilkenny, I almost envisioned a little box saying "how many? x 01"

Back when I use to play zero hour the reticule was practically burnt into my vision for days, i'd blink and the second my eyes opened, it'd be there.

Same thing happened with TF2 when I first played it frantically.

And games due tend to sneak into my dreams some nights, which I actually find kinda funny xD

Screaming "WAKKA WAKKA!!" when kids come to your door dressed as ghosts for Halloween. True story.

Once I was spelling out my last name for the teller at the bank just last week and, for some odd reason or another, I decided to say "Got it memorized?" and immediately thought right afterward 'Dammit!' In front of a line of people.

Whenever I see my mom's dog, I'm sorely tempted to paint Okami Amaterasu's markings on her and make a little doohickey to put on her back.

Second Sign: You see dialog trees a' la Mass Effect whenever you are talking to someone.

Third Sign: Depending on game you play, you feel as if the Heads up Display is burned in your retinas and you can see it whenever you walk around.

Fourth Sign: Looking at the corner of your vision to check the time.

Fifth Sign: You see Achievement Unlocked or You Earned a Trophy when you do something epic or extremely stupid.

Anyone else has any signs of playing too many video games?
I was obsessed with Fallout 3. As a byproduct of that, I now know every single line from three Dog's voice actor, (including the ones that aren't on the radio).

I have good eyesight but I am sometimes perplexed that I can't focus on far away words and I think video games are the problem... for raising my expectations.

In video games everything is effectively infinite depth of field, everything is in perfect focus, but even 20:20 vision can't resolve the writing that is 100 meters away even though the letters appear tall enough to read.

When you get hit or injured somehow you see your health level fall. Or the sides of your vision goes reddish (but that happens normally if its a big hit).

On more than one occasion I've heard Pokemon music long after the Gameboy's been turned off.

But even though it didn't have 'real life' effects, Fire Emblem gameplay mechanics got embedded into my brain after a really long marathon of it and it bled into my WoW gameplay.

What really made me realize that I was playing too much FE was when I was leveling a feral druid. I was killing a mage mob of some sort and it started casting fireball. In FE, fire spells are a near instant kill on cat/tiger laguz (shapeshifters). I freaked out and shifted back into Night Elf form to eat the fireball. After I realized what I just did, I slapped myself.

Immediately afterwords, I was flying over a Horde town in bird form. There were archer mobs shooting at me and again I freaked out. In FE, arrows are an instant kill to flying units, aka bird laguz. So, I did the logical thing and dropped out of flight form and fell to my death in an attempt to flee those little 200 damage arrows.
