Ive got 4 words about the best (imo) gun in this game:

Vladof TMP2/V3 Cold Torment

mine has a damage of 158 and an accuracy of 98 and finally (the reason this handgun is worth mentioning) a fire rate of 16! May not sound like alot, but i can empty a 20 bullet clip in 2 seconds flat, and im happy to prove that,if you guys want my GT.
scratch that last part,my gold expired last night -_-' when i get gold, ill prove it,til then my GT (if interested) is TheNightmanPTR
Hmm, I think I'll add you based on your Avatar alone! Best Album ever!

I've actually had a few good cold torments, never one with damage that high though, did you find it on your second play through? I have a caustic machine pistol with 117 damage, 98 accuracy and 3x corrosive damage, with a fire rate around 10 I think. Like you, I can empty the clip in about 2 seconds.

Torgue is the one I just said. It's refering to their competitor, Jakobs.
Yeah, i love Jakobs though, awesome guns. especially their revolvers. I get a hard-on for a good revolver in borderlands.
I prefer Dahl weapons. They just work the best for me. Jakobs has some pretty kickass snipers, though...

OT: When you start comparing guns and the gun companies between actual people, as seen above, then you've played too much Borderlands.
Hahahah that's a good point. Actually, I've never really found a good machine gun... I've found great combat rifles, but never one that was called a machine gun.

I've definitely found other rare weapon types but this one had a unique name and the fact that I found it twice in the same play through was pretty disturbing. It doesn't happen often outside of the Eridian guns (is it just me or are there only like, 4 of those things?)
Since loot is semi-random, if you know the exact workings of the generator it's possible to always get the same weapon, but this would require perfect timing or extreme (bad)luck.
For the Eridian weapons, there are 4 base types and some randomized appearances there are also upgraded versions for higher level gameplay but there's almost no difference.

On-Topic: It's not that uncommon to find the same gun multiple times(well, the ones with special text). There's only a limited number of rare weapon abilities so the only difference will be in the stats and appearance of the weapon.(appearance is also often fixed)

When you sit there staring at your red ringing xbox wondering where the past few days went and what you did before borderlands.

...Oh look, my copy of Dragon Age is here. >.>

Well, I've played it a hell of a lot and I've only found the EXACT same gun in one playthrough just now. They've done a good job of mixing it up. I know many guns have similar names, appearance, and effects, but this gun was EXACTLY the same.

I played modern warfare 2 and for a moment I was baffled by how amazingly effective my guns became.

When you start telling people that they don't need to be a better shot, they just need to shoot more boolits!"

I learn't all of the lyrics to Ain't no Rest for the Wicked, not by choice mind, they just sort of got in there. Now I find myself singing it everywhere I go.

It's got the same beat as my walking speed so I just think about it constantly.

when you associate certain smells with the game
Like, smells you think would be in the game? Or the way you smell after playing it for 8 hours?

Maybe the fact that I read the topic's title as: "Signs you've played too much Battletoads". :(

Dahl, 20 Clip Size, +33.33% Reload Speed?

Actual numbers might vary a bit depending on item quality.
