See this is why I have always steered clear of online gaming - because it's full of TWATS!
I suffer fools, like you all have been describing, very badly indeed and would REALLY give them a reason to ban me if they pulled any of that shit. It's bad enough when airsofting and some git doesn't take their hits but, from what I can gather, online gaming is the domain of the uber-nerd who's only claim to being well-balanced is the fact they have equally big chips on both shoulders!
Thankfully I've not really fallen foul of overzealous mods or the folk who run combat games and get all pissy when someone kills them. I DO however like playing against people who are sat next to me with the other controller(s) in hand. If A kills B, B calls A a "bastard" but does so with a smile on his/her face and laughs. A may also laugh, although it's more of a "Muh-hah-haaaah!" kinda laugh.
I think the closest I got was being "disinvited" from a D+D session. I'd only gone along because someone begged me to "accompany" him to the session because he was relatively new and didn't want to be "picked on" by the experienced brigade. Surely not? Surely the brilliant unwashed masters of nerdism wouldn't pick on a noob?
Anyway they were all taking it WAYYYY to seriously. By that I mean, despite it being in someone's front room, most of them were in COSTUME! Anyway, because they were getting just a little bit TOO into it, I couldn't help but start playing the joker. Hell it was all in character, my character just so happened to be a bit of a lad, that's all.
Anyway I was SOOOO gutted when my friend was told not to bring me again.
