Never opened that King Kong game, never will.
I automatically assume these games suck.
Ditto. I think I've only played a few movie tie in games that I really liked, and one of those was just a colourful platformer, which was almost impossible to screw up.

That game was actually really good. I hate all movie games except that one.

I usually won't play a game if the protagonist is female. It just feels weird when I am playing a female for some reason.

I'm not going to play The 3rd Birthday for this very reason:

Logan Westbrook said:
The 3rd Birthday, the third game in the Parasite Eve series, has had its plot tweaked to include a scene where lead character Aya Brea takes a shower, following overwhelming pressure from fans to include one.

The demands for a shower scene aren't completely random, as the last Parasite Eve game, Parasite Eve 2 had a short cinematic where Aya showered in her motel room after a long drive through the desert. When asked on Twitter back in August about whether The 3rd Birthday would include a similar scene, director Hajime Tabata said that it wouldn't, because there wasn't anywhere in the game for such a scene to go.

But motivated by countless tweets from fans, Tabata managed to find - or make - a place for a shower scene to go, even tweeting a still from it on the game's official Twitter [http://twitter.com/#!/3rd_birthday/status/12921625389305856 ] feed.

Well theres people that wont play a game because a character has a different sexuallatiy (note: I am not of that group)

I can't really think of silly reasons for not playing a game since I'll try any game once then tell you how I like it, hell I tried NHL 10 even though I abhor sports games and actually liked it
Different sexuality? Are there even any games with an openly homosexual protagonist? I can't think of a single one.
Well in Persona 4 the character Kanji's sexuality is ambiguous. It never flat out says that he is gay or bisexual in the English version of the game but his story pretty strongly suggests it, but the developer has said that Kanji is gay

Well, usually I think to myself stuff like ''should I really play this game right now? I mean, I still have to leave in one hour, and in one hour I would barely be able to get where I want to be. Nah, I will just play it later''
The worst thing is that this happens almost every time I want to play a game I like. Thanks to that I end up playing some irritating online game at a cheap website.
That's my excuse...

I refuse to play any game that requires frequent stealth missions. Even if the game is pretty good stealth missions tend to piss me off.

When people refuse to play games that are popular or mainstream for only that reason...

The Main Character.

I dont care how great the story is, how beautiful the graphics are, or how will the combat system is done. If the main character ((Being Lightning from FF13)) is a total b*tch, i dont want to play the game.

Same with the campaign in MW2. RAMIREZ! RAMIREZ!!! MOTHER******* RAMIREZ!
Hes just a complete pushover who gets no thanks for doing something that takes 30 soilders alone! I wanted to skip every mission that i had to play as him! Infact, i made one of my friends play one of the missions for me because i hate being walked over so much.

Everybody else bought it. Modern warfare 2. I never bought that game for the reason everyone bought it. Now that's a silly reason.

Games that require teamwork. Games that makes teamwork a great way to enjoy it (such as tales of Vesperia) is great, any game that is carried by it such as most MMO's where you need to be in a group to fit in (Guild Wars) is horrible. Unless I'm good at the game I can't work with anyone and I can't get good at the game for that reason...

Games that require that I give a damn. Seriously, morality and all that. It doesn't make me more attached to the virtual me on the screen.

I can't think of one. Really, I just can't.

That doesn't sound like a silly reason to me. Music, and sound in general, is a big factor in setting the tone of a game and helps create the atmosphere. Halo for example, if you ask me, was changed from being a smooth but otherwise not very special Doom-ish (yes, I said it, it's a lot closer to that than the rain of CoD-like games) shooter to an epic battle against superior forces mostly thanks to it's outstanding music.

And a game could be brought down for the same reason.

Silly indeed because that game is damn good.

There are plenty of good movie tie-ins out there. GoldenEye, several Star Wars games, some Spiderman ones, the latest King Kong one. It's mostly those tie-ins from kid-oriented movies, Shrek and Kungfu Panda and so on, that are cheaply made shovelware.

I never got that explanation, "it's just the way I am." It's not like people are set in stone or anything, can't change or learn.

But haven't I read that you enjoy the Persona games. They're on the PS2.

OT: I give all games a chance. There has never been an incident where I didn't want to play a game for something petty.

I'm putting off Beating Black Ops, Mass Effect 2, AC:Brotherhood, and Alan Wake because I want to wait until I feel like paying attention to the story.

That's Pretty Damn Stupid, I should just pop them in and enjoy them, but nooooo.....
