NAMM?Matthew94 said:Nope. Just get Sim City 4 with NAMM and have a blast.shadowstriker86 said:ya, like the title states, is there an actual decent sim city game thats been recently released?
I have a strong feeling the upcoming SC5 will be shit due to
#1 Maxis has lost their magic, or they probably have
#2 It's EA
Ah i see, ty!Matthew94 said:Actually, it might have been NAM.shadowstriker86 said:NAMM?Matthew94 said:Nope. Just get Sim City 4 with NAMM and have a blast.shadowstriker86 said:ya, like the title states, is there an actual decent sim city game thats been recently released?

The point is, it's a mod which fixes the transit system in SC4 and makes it workable.
Traditionally in Sc4 every car took the shortest route. This resulted in mass car pileups through the same few roads and it left tons of roads empty.
The mod makes the people take the quickest route rather than the shortest one so you will have way less traffic issues.

Yeah, that's how much I love the game and the original franchise. I found this page through Google.Matthew94 said:You made an account for that? Wow.indexem said:Matthew94 said:Nope. It's not "SimCity 5", cause it's not a sequel. It's a reboot.
And yes, it's NAM. Not NAMM.

The new SimCity will be shit?! Stick to your dying SC4, typical cynical conservative. This game is mine!
You know that pretty much everything that EA has said about the new SC has been dodgy like the always online and "social" aspects of it.
Also, I don't give a flying toss if it's called SC5 or whatever. The person knew which one I was talking about.
The NAM mistake (which I corrected in my next post) was me getting mixed up with some music thing I has seen on youtube.
SC2K is exactly their main inspiration for the 2013 reboot.evilneko said:A good, recent SimCity?
Doesn't exist. SimCity peaked with SC 2000.
Ugh, playing SC 2000 was terrible (although the soundtrack and title sets were awesome!) I have Sim City 4 Deluxe and it's quite fantastic.evilneko said:A good, recent SimCity?

Ugh, I never liked 2000, although that might be mainly because I ended up getting a corrupted version that wouldn't allow R/C/I zones to develop no matter what I did, aaaand because I was a little kid, had no money, and couldn't convince my parents there was something wrong with the game so they could return it, well...evilneko said:Doesn't exist. ...I fail to see how there is any coherent difference regarding Sim City.indexem said:It's not "SimCity 5", cause it's not a sequel. It's a reboot.
Are you insinuating that because I didn't play the game when it was first released that I, therefore, couldn't have played it for a substantial enough amount of time to form a well based opinion on it? Because if that truly is what you're insinuating then you're making some very large assumptions.indexem said:Birthday: May 16, 1991r_fostoria said:Ugh, playing SC 2000 was terrible (although the soundtrack and title sets were awesome!) I looked at a couple videos on SC2013.indexem said:SC2K is exactly their main inspiration for the 2013 reboot.evilneko said:A good, recent SimCity?

I absolutely cannot stand SC4.r_fostoria said:Ugh, playing SC 2000 was terrible (although the soundtrack and title sets were awesome!) I have Sim City 4 Deluxe and it's quite fantastic.evilneko said:A good, recent SimCity?

Throughout the series, they've been pushing the franchise into a more "paint-a-picture" approach, while not having much consequence in the things that the player does. In the reboot however, it's the other way around. They're now focusing more on gameplay, addressing how the game dynamically reacts and what the player can do about it; offering people actual objectives and rewards. And yes, I've been doing my homework.DeadlyYellow said:...I fail to see how there is any coherent difference regarding Sim City.indexem said:It's not "SimCity 5", cause it's not a sequel. No. I'm saying you were too young to realize that SC2K was incomparable to any other game during its golden years.r_fostoria said:Are you insinuating that because I didn't play the game when it was first released that I, therefore, couldn't have played it for a substantial enough amount of time to form a well based opinion on it? Now you're sounding very much like some stiff people out there who just wants a 3D version of SC4.evilneko said:I looked at a couple videos on SC2013.indexem said:SC2K is exactly their main inspiration for the 2013 reboot.evilneko said:A good, recent SimCity?

I think I'd just rather have a re-release of SC2k, updated so it works on modern Windows. I never could get the sound to work for SC2k in DOSBox. And without the sound, it's just not the same.![]()
