the gameplay is very different to Sims 2. The Sim's wants and needs are clearly marked, and a lot of the tedium of running their lives have been scaled back

all that being said, if you militantly don't get a game, no amount of explaining will help you. Leave it behind, and know that it's intended audience (which isn't you) is loving it.

I love The Sims games because while I was growing up playing with my ACTION MAN as a kid I secretly just wanted a pretty doll with locks of blonde hair that I could dress up in a variety of different outfits and buy accessories for. Sims games allow me to do that virtually without people looking at me funny.

Well, people still look at me funny.

Like you. Yes you, reading this post. Fuck you.

True story bro's.

I used to like the original The Sims when it came out, as I was a kid then. I can't find enough entertainment from Sims 3, no matter how much I try. I have basically just tried it for a couple hours and I found it to have quite a lot of improvements from The Sims 2.

If you haven't noticed Maxis have released the same game 30 times now

(The Sims, The Sims: Livin' Large, The Sims: House Party, The Sims: Hot Date, The Sims: Vacation, The Sims: Unleashed, The Sims: Superstar, The Sims: Makin' Magic, The Sims 2, Holiday Party Pack, Family Fun Stuff, Glamour Life Stuff, Happy Holiday Stuff, Celebration! Stuff, H&M Fashion Stuff, Teen Style Stuff, Kitchen & Bath Interior Design Stuff, IKEA Home Stuff, Mansion & Garden Stuff, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage/World Adventure, FreeTime, Apartment Life, The Sims 3)

Does it really sound suprising when you consider they are owned by EA?
The amount of expansion packs sure is ridiculous and so very much EA-like. The targeted audience seems to be wanting to still buy them. With mind-blowing prices compared to the actual amount and quality of the content.

All the sims games are shit boring. I know several people who like them (all girls) and I just never understood why. When I ask them all they say is "it's fun" or something along those lines.

At the risk of necroing this, here are my two cents.

First of all, yes I am a girl who plays Sims 3 and have owned almost every expansion for Sims 2. Yes I do enjoy the franchise and continue to play it, even though I agree that EA is a money-sucking machine of pure evil.

As to why I personally enjoy it, it's simple.

I get to play god, be an architect, an interior designer, and I can make men pregnant. What more could a woman ask for in a game?
