The dragons are assholes, go figure. I will shoot crap at them for half an hour with them not noticing me. But when I am busy doing something else, they suddenly decide to get all ninja on my ass.
Just today I was slugging it out with a camp full of ice mages and daedra, winning just, only to suddenly hear a massive boom, have the screen shake and find a huge scaly son of a gun had decided to park right behind me and light my ass on fire. Thanks asshole!

Well I haven't run into too many dragons to really tell if they focus on you often enough. I've faced two dragons due to main quests and have fought one randomly. The one I fought randomly didn't want to land much, but that's probably because I was going along a forest road, so there wasn't much room to land. I had to run down to the nearby river for it to land.

As for their difficulty, dragons are one of the harder foes for me to fight. Their breath attacks usually do a good amount of damage to me and them flying around means I have to shot random shot up at them while they rain more breath attacks down upon me. I can usually take them though by blasting them with spells then hacking at them while healing.

Now giants... giants are scary.

I like the dragons a lot really, maybe 'cause they're still a valid threat to me since I didn't pick a Nord to start with.

Also I once got attacked by 2 dragons at the same time, one fire one frost. They decided to continually drive bomb me until I died... I even ran into an open icy lake field thing, nope landing is for pussies according to these dragons.

Oh yeah dragons really don't seem to like Dawnstar that much, 3 dragon attacks on 3 seperate occasions... Makes me wonder if it's just because Dawnstar's the only town without a loading screen and they're just being bastards about it.

I'm basically the biggest threat in the entire world for them... so why the hell are the dragons flying off and attacking mud-crabs, or deciding that my horse is far tastier then my delicious self. Must I remove all my armour and cover myself in tomato sauce to get their attention?
Well they are predatory animals... Dragons are commonly depicted as wise old creatures, it doesn't necessarily mean they are.

Besides, in my personal opinion, horse is far tastier than human meat. More to go around too...

I was feeling a bit of the same way... This changed for me however when 2 times during conversation I'd be sitting there listening to the exposition when suddenly dragon appears and starts rampaging in the background. Guards were shouting and villagers screaming in the background, and the person I was talking to never broke eye contact... And I immediately forgot all my qualms with the dragons and laughed for a few good minutes.

I will admit though, I do like how the random encounters actually work dragon encounters into towns, really makes the world seem real when I'm walking down a street to sell some armor and suddenly BAM dragon. Makes me realize just how... distant the whole Oblivion 'crisis' felt in Oblivion, seemed like to the average Joe, the whole thing might as well have been taking place on the far side of mars. Not with the Dragons, they will drop in, anytime anyplace and ruin your day.

i find dragons just too easy to kill, however bears, trolls and giants rip out my skull and beat me to death with it

I haven't really seen enough of them.

I'm so confused with this, I have 13 hours played, which seems like a decent amount 2 days after release, but everyone I talk to has already seen so many more dragons than I have.

I've only seen 2 main-quest dragons and 2 random ones. Am I just spending way too much time on side-quests?
Okay, if you've seen 4 dragons in 13 hours, Bethesda has clearly overdone the whole "there will be dragons" element...

I killed one in Winterhold (he died atop the wizard tower which is now the best decoration ever) and then I fast travelled to a grove south of Windhelm. Where I was attacked by another dragon. Fast travelled to somewhere near Falkreath. Dragon.

At first it was cool, then it got pretty regular, now they're just tedious. I ignore them and they seem happy to pick on wolves and mammoths.

Also, one of them didn't even breathe on me, just stared from the wild blue yonder while I shot Ice Spikes at it. I felt pretty bad because all it did was circle me and stare. I think he was the tourist equivalent of dragons, just staring at the so-called dragonborn only to be attacked by the stupid humie.

You need to use harsher language. Maybe insult their mothers

Stormcloak scum! Have at thee!

OT: I'm quite happy with the dragons actually, but with your situation, they clearly think mudcrabs are more of a threat than you, and if you're a nord, the dragons are probably right.
Imperial Pig I hope you and your Thalmor puppet masters rot [sub][sub][sub]its rp no offense intended[/sub][/sub][/sub]

OT the only thing I have to complain about dragons is that they obliviously killed all the khajjit hopefully the next games in elsweyr

I can just imagine their thought process at the time.

"Oh no... oh no it's that Dragonborn guy. Oh god, I should probably attack him. Hey, uh, some mudkrabs. They look dangerous. Oh boy I better take care of them first. <_<"

I was a bit surprised at the amount of dragons I met actually, I though they would be somewhat more rare. A part from the dragons in the main quest (which I have not finished) I've met like six or seven dragons "randomly" since I started playing (which was last friday ofc).

It's fun when they come though. I played a magic focused character so I joined the college in Winterhold and once when I was there the mages suddenly started running around shooting magic at something. Turns out it was a dragon attacking the college but unfortunatly for him, he was no match for the combined powers of the mages there and died pretty quick.

Oh yeah and once I was escorting some guy to place he wanted to go when we were attacked by a dragon. Since the guy was just common villager and not a fighter he could do little to defend himself and thus met a quick and inglorius end. Bummer.

i know it is pretty annoying having to violate its mother just to get its attention but when this dragons looks at you and is all like now you die it fucking sucks. like i was just partying around white run and this dragon is all like ALL YOUR YOUR SOULS ARE BELONG TO US!!. and it just sat there and roasted me with fire breath and it killed me in like 20 seconds but they aren't challenging most of the time which makes me sad

I got revenge on Riverwood once.

Had a massive bounty in Whiterun due to... Problems.
Long story short, i was going to try and use the chest in the room behind the bookcase in the inn to store some crap, when the guards give me the choice of going to prison or fighting them.
While a dragon was landing next to the town behind them.
So i was all like 'you know what? screw you guys. Enjoy the dragon', selected fight and then ran directly at the dragon and hid behind it while the guards fired arrows at me. 1 arrow hit the dragon.

I waited for the dragon to kill about 5 people before i very quickly and easily destroyed it.

Thats nothing. I was at a friends house and she gave me the controller to play for a bit and I literally ran into five dragons in under two hours. Not only are the bloody things everywhere but they are also weak as hell. I had more trouble fighting an ice troll then any dragon.
A good point Sir (or Madame), but one that only further validates my point.

It's like how you knew the D&D movie was going to be shit the minute it opened with a dragon in a dungeon.

Skyrim's dragons sound less like the terrifying creatures of legend and more like giant lizards you occasionally trip over.
