I'm posting to tell you sir, that I will be stealing "electric crack" in future.
On topic, I don't have the time to invest that much in Skyrim, though I am racking close to 100 hours if not a 100 right now.
Also got distracted over the holidays, cleaning up my ME2 saves in preparation for 3. Think I've nailed down what Shep to bring through to final game...I hope...
I'm forcing myself NOT to play it today; I need to go to bed prompt tonight as I have a long journey to undertake tomorrow and I need to get some sleep beforehand.
I'm hooked at the moment and despite having put a good 100 hours (maybe) so far into it, I've not finished the Winterhold College, Thieves Guild, Companions and main story quest archs and I've still to explore most of the towns thoroughly as well as even visit most of the western areas of Skyrim.
I can't seem to grasp the combat and/or stealth, which makes me wonder if I should've focused on being a magic dealer, instead. You don't have to worry about everyone "blocking" your flamethrower. (Also, I couldn't hit a target with the bow 'n arrow to save my life, even though I'm normally rather good with that in other games. I consider myself to be a fine sniper, even with arrows that need adjustment for drop and distance.)
Anyway, yeah, I see how it could be really fun, but I haven't gotten to the point where I'm confident I like the game, yet.
I still don't see what's wrong with the interface. I played it for a full 3 days after release with that never being an issue beyond that lack of container categorisations and then I discovered that other people seemed to have issues.
I've hit the 140 hour mark and I am now bored. I'm the master of every guild, quite a few 100 skills, level 54 and I've completed every major quest I could find.
I think they focused far too much on this damn "infinite story" thing the radiant story can do. Yes, it's clever. I can now do minor thieves guild, dark brotherhood and so on quests for ever! Shame they're all entirely inconsequential and take up space that could've been used to pad the story itself out more. Becoming the master of the thieves guild in under an hour is just...unforgivable. There is no excuse for such poor levels of detail in the main quests, it just seems rushed.
As a comparison, I put over 500 total hours into playing Oblivion, on multiple playthroughs and different play styles because to join the guilds was actually time consuming in a fun way, steadily raising through the ranks and getting perks for it, instead of being like:
"welcome apprentice, to the mages guild! Oh, the archmage died, guess you're our new archmage because you found a staff in a dungeon!"
Enormous let down. Worth getting, but a let down nonetheless. But I digress.
In answer to the original question, I doubt I'm going to get much further than the current 140 hours unless I leave it and come back in a year or so. Although I'd much rather Elder Scrolls VI: Elsweyr rather than a replay of Skyrim..go on Bethesda, you know you want to.
WoW is the only game that I spent countless hours on.
I hope it remains that way.
But anyways, I haven't spent more than 100 hours on skyrim yet. It's a great game though. There's someone I know who has spent over 500 hours on the game.
I have 233 hours played I haven't got all the shouts yet but I've finished most of the main quests lines having a bit of a break from it for now got kind of burned out I think.
Really loved it though.

I can't get more than 60 hours out of it by doing pretty much everything there is to do is what I mean. Every location explored, every side quest done. On expert.
That doesn't mean its a polished thing. I found as many glitches in every aspect of the game and = as many in the world. Try again.
Skyrim, wether you like it or not, will die out because it can only be played to completion once, okay, it can only be played through 2 dungeons before everything is basically the same as those two dungeons, but my point is that it will fall into boring and tedious at some point, because it can only be played to completion once. While multiplayer shooters can be played differently forever.
It is all very interesting what you have said, but that's besides the point.
I just stated the game world is huge and that some people will want to explore every inch of it. While some other people might get bored after a few hours.

Really because I plan to play it through again as a sword and board character. Multiplayer shooters are exactly the same every time you play them...Unless they bring out new maps.
Just because a game isn't your cup of tea doesn't make it bad you know.
It took me about 100 hours to get through all/most of the unique quests. I've largely moved on, for now. I'll be back for DLC and once the modding scene opens up after they release the creation engine in January.
(Not that the current mods aren't great. But the creation engine will allow for more custom content, which is what I crave.)
I spent around 60 + hours on it. First 40 were on my first play through and the rest were on a character that exclusively did the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild quests. I thoroughly enjoyed the game, it certainty feels vast with all of the nooks and crannies that are tucked away. I applaud the game for allowing you to just screw around, they never nudge you do the main quest or anything for that matter. On the flip side, a decent amount of the dungeons are copied/pasted and the vast majority of NPCs have no personality and are merely just soulless husks of ones and zeros.
Also, this thread may be a bit biased, considering all the people that really like Skyim are probably playing Skyrim instead of posting about it.
Not sure how many hours I put into it, but I got sick of it pretty quickly. My character was around level 20 and everything became dead easy and boring. I really do not see why everyone loves it as much as they do.
It was fun while it lasted, but really people it's not that good.
Eh, that's not entirely fact, as I could only play wow for 2 weeks before wanting to toss it into the sun, and i played minecraft for 2 days before I had done everything and got bored. Skyrim I love, as all TES games, but I'm not addicted to it. I still play many other games. One game my sister got me addicted to though is The World Ends With You. I thought twewy would be boring and pretentious, but the only time I'm not playing is to sleep of get Shut Down Pin Points (SDPP) when then I do play other games.

If your having fun, good for you. But to me its just polished shit.
Hardest difficulty, no fast travel while exploring all the caves you see while simultaneously doing the dark brotherhood takes a massive amount of time.
I'm 138 hours in playing only on expert and fast travelling and I've still gotten that long out of it!
