People still celebrate rememberance day?

OT: well wait an extra day ( since you don't have a choice) and avoid the internet likethe plague to avoid spoilers . Who wants to bet someone in going to finish the main quest on day one and post it on youtube?

Lest Bethesda Forgets. Why would a corporation care about the sacrifices of millions of people? That would just be good PR, and we can't have that!

Yeah this is pretty lame. I'm considering ordering it on Amazon but I don't want to end up getting it even later so I'll probably just have to suck it up (read: sob profusely) and get it on Saturday. Or maybe I'll just spend the 11th driving around looking for an open store. There has to be one. There has to be!

Probably because 11/11/11 is a cool date. They can only do it for 12/12/12 and then they have to wait a hundred years or so.

It's remembrance day here in Britain. All shops are still open but at 11:11 we have a minutes silence.
So much for different cultures. In my homecity November 11th is the start of the carnival season and at 11:11:11 on November 11th there is a lot of cheering, music, dancing in the street and funny costumes... :D

What better way to remember the sacrifices of our soldiers than to smash a dragon in the face with an axe?

It's what Jesus would have wanted.
Taking an axe to the face of a dragon, the ultimate application of the "What would Jesus do?" rule.

This is America, so "holidays" translate to "excuse to get drunk and have sales", so nope, store are always open, and nobody cares to remember anything.

I thought this was a little odd also. I pre-ordered though so I won't be receiving the game in the mail until a couple of days later. It's no big deal for me considering I need to upgrade my specs before then so I can play it on ultra.

As no one has pointed out, we do celebrate that date in the US under the moniker of "Veteran's Day," complete with a moment of silence at 11:11 AM. Granted, I don't think its seen as quite as important, but it's still a federal holiday (meaning all the states must recognize it).

As for why Skyrim is coming out on that day, probably because 11.11.11 just looks cool and it's really not that big of a deal (even if a game came out here on July 4th, I don't think anyone would really mind).

It's veteran's day here on that date but it doesn't really matter, don't think any stores will be closed. Also in Canada if you have a good PC then Steam will be open as always. Besides, 11/11/11 only happens once every hundred years, so I say celebrate rememberence day the other 99 but this year celebrate Skyrim.
