They're going the same way as with Fallout 3 huh... well, if they still have the extra, mostly unused slots (Body Addon 1-3) then modders will fix it. Unless you're planning to play on a console, that is. But who would want to do that?Gill Kaiser said:I don't really see a problem with new features being added.
In fact, I've liked nearly everything I've heard about Skyrim so far. I'm very excited for it.
However, the major, MAJOR exception is the further reduction of armour slots; merging armour and greaves? What were they thinking? What if I want to have a topless Nord barbarian run around like Conan, but still have him wear trousers?
Here's a good solution then: Don't fucking call it "The Elder Scrolls V." Problem solved. I'm sure if people didn't have such a hard-on for brand recognition, everyone would be clamoring about "Bethesda's new hack-'n-slash adventure game"MacJack said:ACTUALLY:Signa said:Same here. There is just too much money in casuals to ignore them. I don't think we will ever get a proper RPG-style game from Bethesda again.
I mean, c'mon, RPGs have never been about player skill and are all about the stats that represent your character. Morrowind NAILED it where your character could be weak, and no amount of skillful playing could compensate for that. Yet it still offered the feeling that the player was the character, so they would know what they could handle and what they couldn't. Yet despite all that, Skyrim seems oblivion-bent on making the game a hack-'n-slash with virtually no RPG elements. Why even call it a RPG then?
Morrowind had nice lore but poor main quest design and it was TOO hardcore on the rpg skills system with too long travelling time. It did got the charactarezation right, you cant be, say a thief and kill everyone like it happens with games nowdays.
I guess what they try to do in oblivion is provide a simplier control/stats theme and make it more fps/action like, more fable/bioshock if you wish.
The question is, will they get the roleplaying right? But as far as i can say at this state peopel who loved morrowind for being a hardcore rpg and bashed oblivion for being dumbed down and consolish, will discover a fable/mass effect2/bioshcok here and not a proper sequel to morrowind that will pay up for oblivion infact it will make oblivion look like a "complex" rpg.

Well, the adulterated mods are going to be even more plentiful now haha
Well when you stare at pieces of meat flapping around with words coming out of them for a few days, anything could look attractive in comparison xDMachiavellian007 said:Don't care, but the NPC shown in that article is stunningly attractive.
Then again, I have been playing Oblivion for the past few days and staring at flat expressionless faces.

Marry the pretty Nord bar wench, get her pregnant, spend your days going over the budget with kids screaming for gold and hanging out with those good for nothing Argonian kids who sell Skooma. All the while the wife bemoaning how her husband used to be a someone, how he used to kill dragons before breakfast and now he just sits in the rocker on the front porch staring at nothing while she has noticed how attractive the neighbor looks without his shirt on.
Living the dream.
That would be cool, can't remember if Oblivion had a "hide helmer" option. But eh, mods will fix any minor issues though.Latinidiot said:Yeah, but they should put in a 'hide cuirass' option the same way you can hide your helmet in some games.Hyper-space said:Wasn't the merging of the cuirass and greaves done to reduce the amount that needs to be rendered and avoid clipping issues? being able to have more people on the screen and more types of armor is also a +1 for the game.evilneko said:I wanna know if there are gay options. >.>

Plus, how good did your character look when he wasn't wearing chest and leggings of the same set?
You my friend, sum up what is wrong with this idea. It doesn't have to be like this, but I certainly don't feel any bit of romantically involved with anything in the Elder Scrolls Universe so far, even Skyrim won't make me want to marry someone.Racecarlock said:Yeah that's totally what elder scrolls was missing. The problem with Oblivion Gates was they were repetitive and took too long to complete. Dragon fights shouldn't take any time at all - you can even ignore them. Like you could do to Oblivion Gates.I also think it's a shitty idea they included dragons for that matter. The dragons are gonna be the new 'oblivion gates'. think about it and you know what i mean.
Already confirmed. I think they have 75 voice actors right now.I just hope they fix the NPC's conversations and hire plenty of voiceactors this time around, for the rest it will be good (enough) and else i will mod it myself if i have to,
I seriously doubt it will have that...but you just gave a great idea for a very funny future mod *grin*Ranorak said:And the ability to murder them...eh....eh!Racecarlock said:Yeah that's totally what elder scrolls was missing. *nudge nudge*
You didn´t hear this from me!
...you totally heard that from me.
Edit: Here´s a thought.
I wonder what would happen if I had 2 wives in different cities.
And they would meet.
If they can script that in... I would be abusing that so freaking much!
"Who is SHE?!"
"You have another WIFE?!"
"What about Billy?"
"You have a child with HER?! you said you never wanted those annoying hellspawn!"
"Daddy? Am I a hellspawn?"
Me: Ohh.. this is just priceless!
Look again. There's "armour", "gloves" and "boots" but no greaves. It was speculated on the official forum that they had merged cuirass and greaves after that video was released, and a Bethesda employee confirmed it in a recent fan interview:CNKFan said:Where is the info that you are getting for this.
