I've looked, but I haven't seen it anywhere yet...have the minimum/recommended PC specs for Skyrim been announced yet?

These things are pretty predictable these days though. I'm calling a quad core 3ghz 4gb Ram and a 5850/GTX 280

The specs will, of course, be too high. So I shall play it on console. (Puts up flame shield)

In all seriousness, they probably won't be too different to Oblivion's specs. It doesn't look like the visuals have improved much.

Fixed that for you.

OT: Shrug. It'll probably require a space-age computer to play it.

That's overkill, I doubt it will require more than a 9800/4850, 2GB RAM and a 2.5-ish Dual Core.

That's still too high, Fallout 3's requirements were:
1GB System RAM (XP)/ 2GB System RAM (Vista)
2.4 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 256MB RAM (NVIDIA 6800 or better/ATI X850 or better)

Skyrim will probably only require a slightly better system.Remember, this game has to run on the consoles and so the the PC requirements should only go up slightly if at all.

Very misleading title. I came here thinking it contained the specs. :(

You should bump up the CPU to at least a dual core, remember that even if the consoles are outdated they are still multi-core systems that take advantage of it.

The game will probably require at least Shader Model 3, so that ATi x850 should be at least a x1850, the x800 only had up to SM2.0b

Also the game is not running on the same engine, this is supposed to be a new inhouse engine, I'd expect the requirements to be higher than Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

I'll be surprised if they are much different to the specs needed for Fallout 3.

It looks decent enough but Bathesda aren't exactly known for making games that eat low end PC's.

I would be very disappointed if the recommended requirements were that low, my somewhat ageing machine is pretty much exactly that spec and it can struggle with STALKER SoC with the Complete mod, Empire Total War and Civ V in the later stages.

Of course, I couldn't really care less about Skyrim, I'm just keeping an eye on the engine for the inevitable Fallout 4, I'm just hoping they stick with the west coast (or perhaps is Bethesda are writing it, I'd rather they stay east coast so I can mentally write that out of canon).

They won't be shown until closer to release, but I'm guessing.

Minimum
2GB System RAM
2.4 Ghz Dual core processor
Nvidia 8 series Graphics card (perhaps something akin to a 8800 GT).

Recommended
4GB System RAM
1.8 Ghz Quad core processor
Nvidia GTX 260

I messed up the RAM should be 3gig since it's a 32bit executable. You'll still be boned with less than 8 by the time the mods are done though. As for the rest no-one can be bothered optimising PC games because of people like number 2301. Don't care how good the game looks but it damn well shouldn't run on other peoples PCs. Especially infuriating attitude here because there isn't a PC on earth that will be able to run it well with all the texture packs and Oscuro type mods. Every bit of optimisation will help.

^^^^ Someone knows what's up.

They'll probably just say "Any quad core processor," and they'll probably go at least as high as a 460/whatever the AMD equivalent is (5850?).

I imagine it will take some kind of combination of computer chips, keyboards and magical glowing boxes. The requirements change if it's a laptop; the glowing box becomes the glowing box lid.

Do the keys on the keyboard have to glow too? If so, my desktop is in the clear, as they are blue, but my laptop is boned because I was too cheap to pay $25.00 for glowing keys. I will sad face. :<

$25 for glowing keys? The hell, man? How could you not make that investment?

I wanted to, but when I couldn't see I flipped on my overhead lighting to see, I discovered that they shine brightly already! :D

With that extra $25.00, I can buy 1/2 of Skyrim. A wise investment indeed. ^_^//
