I always wonder why games like these never gets any hate from the media, I can understand why you would hate this(hell even I want it shut down, this just is in bad taste)!

Looks like some shitty browser game so I would assume it´s just 1 or 2 a-holes making it in flash <-<

I feel like I should be upset, but honestly, its a pretty damn hilarious concept. I mean, hell, I've already been a slave DRIVER in nearly ever sim game I've ever played, so this is just like getting promoted to middle management.

In all seriousness though, its either a hoax or its someone with incredibly bad taste, or with his finger on the pulse of the community circa 1800. I wouldn't take it too seriously.

Also, WTF I can immediately wield a rifle or a freaking whip but I have to be level 8 to wield a sword? THATS TOTALLY WEAK, DEVS PATCH THIS IMMEDIATELY OR NO SELL

Its fake.
Also what is that Rifle? Is that a bolt handle I see on it?

Pretty sure slave traders didn't have bolt action rifles.
Good eyes sir! I didn't notice that...

OT: *Insert generic 'faith in humanity lost' comment here*

A game in which the entire point is to be straight-up evil in a historical setting? Hell, I'd play it. I really wish it weren't fake.

Pretty sure this is fake and it's funny as hell.

That said I bet Fox News picks up on this.

A game about slavery has already been made. I can't remember its name, it was Japanese and had two characters. A woman who enslaves a man with a Running Man -esque explosive collar. The Escapist even had an article praising its story if I remember correctly, twisted fuckers.

I don't think this is real either, at least going by Mr Cavalli's article on it that I read earlier.

Either way, don't care. Slavery is old news in the western world, about time people stopped getting so pissy about it. Nobody even close to being alive was a slave.

We can joke about Hitler's ovens but can't even touch the subject of slavery? Get bent.
Yaaa, I remember that crazy slavery game too. Wasn't it basically a Chinese story subverted into robots and forced labor via death collar?

Ya, I see no problem with a slavery game if it existed. I mean, how many different murder simulators do we have?

I've heard it's just a joke but this game really doesn't sound that bad. For a start tons of games have slavery in them, but it's only really a bad thing once it becomes graphic and you're the one doing the nasty work.

If a game like this had graphic scenes where you torture slaves in horrific ways and hear them scream in pain infront of their own children then yeah it'd be looking for a ban. But, the trailer in question just shows some sort of tame "slavery tycoon" type game, no worse than something like Pandemic where you click parts of a map and watch numbers go up and down.

Well, is it wrong that I think the gameplay could be good? It's like a business game. If it was more tongue-in-cheek humor based, like Tropico 3, I would like it a lot more.

Wow. How does something like this get green lighted? And it's an Adults Only rated gamed too. I thought those kind of games died out a long time ago.

Sorry Moez, the Escapist looked into it and found no trace of the game or its developers. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/112777-Mystery-And-Controversy-Surround-Slavery-The-Game]

Sorry man, its just a cruel internet joke: some troll trying to outdo School Shooter without the effort.
As if the rifle,　bat with nails in, and "sabel" weren't good enough indicators...

On it as an idea, I actually would like to see it as a game (or maybe as two games. Not really, I guess considering the focus, but it would still be interesting to see a game from the perspective of one of those slaves. Escape, and then... what?). Historically, our world has been with slavery longer than many of our modern nations. At that time, you had the indentured man and the slave, both of which I imagine the enterprising businessman could make money off of. Other obvious bit being that you easily have a morality path there, either being a nice-ish person, and having more people you can deal to, or being a right bastard, and making money almost hand over fist at the cost of some customers. Especially during the latter half of the period in question, where some countries had outlawed slavery, and others hadn't.

All the same, I'm not quite sure.... I think a pirate game where you can attack ships to capture slaves would be more fun.

I'd play that, in fact, it could be extremely interesting.

"Javelin Reds" is an anagram of "De Slavernij", which translates from Spanish into "The Slavery".

Credits given to the guy who commented on the youtube video. Smart guy.

I'd buy it! Wonder if it's going to be one of PSN's $15 downloads?

Dear Sony, why is all my cargo labeled George Hotz and William Gates?

In all seriousness it has to be a well made joke.
