I haven't slept for three nights, I always end up sleeping a little during the day but I think that I have gone completely nocturnal. I lay still for like 7 hours and then I eventually decide to sleep on the couch and fall asleep in the morning. This is ruining my schedule and is making my head dizzy and painful. Can someone here please give me some advice?

Tried falling asleep with some soothing music on?
What often keeps me up is that my mind refuses to stop thinking about/analyzing random stuff. It can get so bad that I lie in bed all night just like you. I reckon the music could help get your focus on something else.

Sorry if it's a shitty advice. :/

perhaps a gaming site is not the best place to seek advice for sleep disorders IMO

but using energy is a sure fire way to get tired... make sure you exhaust yourself a couple of hours before you go to sleep though.

Do something really active during the day then go to bed at a normal time for 2-3 days in a row and it should reset your body clock pretty hard.

I used that method and it worked amazingly well

You should probably see a professional for that. I'm kinda developing an insomnia too, but only to the point where it takes me about 3 hours to fall asleep. I think your condition is a bit worse.

Probably incredibly useless advice to anyone who is not me, but I RP my way to sleep. Incredibly sad I know, but it works. Since I have ADHD, I can't just fall to sleep, I'm always analysing, ethically and philosophically considering, and generally overthinking. By making a story (which takes months to get through) for me to go through, I focus my thoughts and I can fall to sleep pretty well now. But it's really just about focussing on something.

1. Cut out the caffeine/cigarettes/any and all stimulants.
2. Cut most of the carbs out of your diet.
3. Don't eat for *at least* 4 hours before you plan to go to sleep.
4. Exercise intensively *at least* 4 hours before you plan to go to sleep.
5. Ease into sleep by doing something you find relaxing and maybe a little dull. Don't do anything that engages your attention/gets your heart rate up.
6. Get up at 8am (or whatever time you prefer to be up by) no matter *when* you manage to fall asleep.
7. Don't allow yourself any naps until what you want to be your actual bedtime.

Dont go on a computer for a few hours before you go to bed, they really mess with your head when it comes to sleeping.

When your lieing there invision yourself walking up a mountain. Its used to help insomniacs to drift off though you need to clear your mind of all else.

Mix that in with a good diet and excercise regime with maybe a few vitamins for good measure and youll be sleeping regularly in no time. It would look like you have a melatonin imbalance, if you can get melatonin suplements that that should help

Whenever this happens to me, I have to do what I call a "hard reset" of my sleep schedule, and it always sucks.
I have to stay up until about midnight, or what my bed time is supposed to be +4 hours, and during that time all I do is make myself more tired.

I'm not suggesting you do this, because it sounds like you have something a little more serious, but it is what I do, so it might help.
It also sounds like you have something serious on the mind. Phone up your parents or a very close friend and vent to them, that will help ease your mind, and normal-ish sleep should follow.
If you hit 4 days, go see a doctor.

There's a ton of stuff that can have an effect on your sleeping patterns. There's some good advice here already, but I'll add that eating dinner too close to when you want to sleep doesn't help. On the other hand, having a drink beforehand could (a warm drink like hot chocolate in particular).

Stress and/or worry can also disturb your sleep; so you can also try spending some time to chill out if that's applicable.

Another easy thing you could try is having something that dimly glows to look at. As it's been said, having something to focus on to help clear your mind could well do the trick.

E: Like others, I'd suggest you speak to your doctor as well. Don't just accept a "oh take some sleeping pills" response as that merely puts the problem on hold rather than takes care of it.

Quit the napping it'll play havoc with your sleep pattern, do something that tires you out for a while walking/running or something of the sort late-ish and see if you can get to bed early.

All of this.

Also, try to avoid computers a few hours before you're planning on going to sleep, they really don't help. A sleep diary might help you, as it sets a good routine. If none of this helps in the slightest, definitely seek out professional help.

Try working out during the day. Try just going for 30 minute walks in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Swimming is EXTREMELY good if you want to tire yourself out too. Just try being more active. Also maybe try taking caffeine (ie coffee, etc) or like 5 hour energy or something during the day so you don't fall asleep until night time. It might not be fun forcing yourself to go 36 hours without sleep, but sleeping during the day just makes it tougher to get to sleep at night.

If that doesn't help maybe talk to a doctor because it may be due to a chemical problem.

And by during the day, I mean take that in the morning. Sleeping during the day is just as much of the problem as not sleeping at night.

Don't try to fall asleep, just pull an all-nighter. Do all sorts of fun things, play games or whatever! It'll screw up the next day, but at least you'll be so tired by the end of the day there's no way you're not going to fall asleep.

If you don't fall asleep, do not sleep in the day, no matter how small the amount you get during the day, it won't fix the problem. Stay awake until the night and just pass out. If you still have problems, try and get a lot of sunlight during the day, drinking tea with Valerian in it, having a hot bath, all manor of things can help your sleep cycles.
