Slow loading times on the escapist

I've experienced slow loading times recently, it's happening now.

I'm blaming it on the adserver process.advertangel.com - there's a few threads around the interwebs about adservers fucking up forums, and I'm getting fed up with the extra 30 seconds it can take to just open up a damn forum page this last week or so. Was literally about to start my own thread when I saw this one pop up.

Using Chrome, so unfortunately adblocker doesn't seem to work right - it only stops the ads displaying, not loading unlike it would on firefox :/

Please, site admins, change advert server or something - merely loading a forum page shouldn't be tedious, no matter the written content

It's dong the exact same for me and has been doing so since last week. Bandwidth isn't that expensive and it's easy to get hold of so I don't know why there is still this problem...

I think it's the adds killing it. Tonight the site has really just taken the biscuit though, extremely long loading times now...

Its nice to know i'm not the only one getting it, a while back I had some terrible internet woes and I assumed it was that lurking it's ugly head again when it started taking it's sweet time loading this site.

Its strange, only sometimes the pages decide to load slowly. Other times it runs smoothly. Il be happy once this is all over.

Comic contest uploads are almost over, I suspect the lag will subside shortly.

Perhaps it's something to do with this?

Normally Brutus is pretty good at knowing stuff about the site, and Wilson is Wilson, crazy bed or not.

Yeah it has been bad as of late. I mean at home i'm the only one on this connection so it's pretty fast but at my mates' where theres a few connections at once, it's been dire.

I was lurking this site for long time before I joined, i'm that creepy old guy that knows everything about the users, and has 100 cats in his house...

Hopefully one day I'll meet a crazy old lady with some cats, and we could live begrudgingly together and scream at the kids outside our house.

I was having lots of loading problems during the days when the Sprint ads were running...not before, and not any more.

I have trouble to but it seems to be when I edit posts and I get a double dose of your AVP ads(Those things kill my speed)

I have noticed, in recent months, that the site has encountered a very large number of various problems (mostly ones that stop it from loading completely).

Its been incredibly slow the last couple of weeks as well, although it seems to have gone back to normal today.
