So because you made the above comment and tell us it is asinine to complain about not having game not unlocked for us right away, I had to capitalize my previous statement in order to make sure you fully understand what was repeated numerous times in this thread.
And I'VE stated numerous times that I think it's a rather ridiculous thing to complain about and that I disagree on the idea that most character should be unlocked right off the bar. But that's just personal opinion, just like how you have your own on this matter.
Make it like most fighting games and have at least 50 percent of the roster unlocked.
See, this is a much more reasonable expectation. This is why I look at what you and Dirty Hipsters stated and just shake my head. 80%+ or all of the entire roster being expected to be opened up right at the beginning just so you and him/her can have your version of fun is a lofty expectation to have of a game. That's all I've been trying to say.
Jesus Christ did Smash give everyone Alzheimers or something.
Now you're just getting overly dramatic.

That would be fine if you people decided to disagree with me but you and Elvis decided to become disingenuous and choose to strawman what the opposing side says.
You say that, but let me break this down for you...

I understand that sometimes you have to work for your food and if you want to get a character you like you have to do a few requirements but my god whoever thought that the starting roster should contain 8 people should be shot.
A fair enough complaint, maybe there isn't enough at the beginning. But then it's followed up with this:

Its pretty much an issue when I have to grind in order to play my mains.
Alongside Dirty Hipsters stating these:
Dirty Hipsters said:
I wouldn't feel accomplished from unlocking characters, I would feel like my time is being wasted, because it is.
Dirty Hipsters said:
I would much rather just have all the characters unlocked from the beginning and be able to play with friends. Even then, I would actually be ok with all of the new characters being locked and having to do a little work to unlock them.
Then I think you can forgive me for getting the impression neither of you liked the idea of unlocking things in this game. You can call it a "strawman" all you want, but considering these were both stated from you and Dirty Hipsters, I think that impression is pretty fair. Especially when it was also followed up with this:
Dirty Hipsters said:
The game is work for 20 hours until you actually have the characters and then you get to do the fun thing that the game is built for, which is playing with friends. Literally the thing that the game is built around is locked until you've wasted enough time.
I can tell you right now what someone defines as fun is purely subjective and of personal opinion. From my personal experience, playing Smash and unlocking things is fun and I've had fun with others doing it, but Dirty Hipsters calls it work. YOU may not PapaGreg096, but he does.
I can concede the idea that maybe 8 is too little. That's fine. I can agree with your idea that 50% is probably a good number to start with. But when I'm getting comments from both sides saying that playing for more is an issue (
More on Dirty Hipster's side than yours, making that very clear right now), how else am I supposed to look at it other than "I wish I didn't have to work hard to play a game and unlock things", the point everyone else has been trying to make? I have been reading both of your comments (Like you think I'm not doing), and while both of you have followed up saying you don't mind unlocking things, in the same breath you've both stated at least
something to indicate it's an issue and a source of frustration.
So forgive me if I got my lines crossed here and was under the impression it was an issue to you both.
