Hello,

Hello

So my friends, watching the footage below and thought game has too much potential even thought previous 2 games failed.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgRdJmBa95o

now They are making more open ended, larger level design, built on Cry engine 3. if they dont screwed it up again it might turn out very good

Either it will be really good and become sleeper hit of this year or it will failed hard like previous game.

I have really keep an eye on this. what are your thoughts?

From the video: it looks niche and poorly marketed. Not bad per se but it's a shooter with a clich? for a name and relatively slow gameplay. At best I'd expect it to succesfuly fill a certain niche. More likely I'd expect this to be a lesser shooter with a small fanbase living in the shadow of all the big and medium sized fish swimming around.

I can see myself playing and enjoying this though. It dares to take it slow.

But that name. It reminds me of seeing sniper elite: nazi zombie armie 2 on the steam storepage. I approve of how descriptive it is but it is a bad sign if every word in the name of your game is a clich

Too much hand-holding. You can highlight and tag everything. These are the things that players should learn to do on their own and become better at those things through gameplay. If hand-holding can be turned off then I'm very much interested.

Given that the last two games have hit fuck all, I doubt it.

I guess you never know though.

Personally I lost interest the second they said that you're an American commando super-sniper killing Russians.

So fucking bored of that shit.

Yes. These guys keep failing hard because they are simply incapable of creating something original. They're still stuck in that "modern military shooter commando super soldier" mindset. They're creating the game that they think majority of gamers should like based on previous success of similar games. The only thing that's supposed to differentiates this game from the rest of the modern military genre is the focus on sniping and stealth. But we can do that in Far Cry 3 and 4 just as well.

It is possible. But I think it is WAY too early in 2016 to begin to make this claim. I mean fuck, nothing has even come out yet. Nothing important at least. (cough cough Far Cry Primal)

I agree. I absolutely hate generic military shooters which involve "on your feet soldiers". I prefer Doom like fast paced twitch shooters.

im interested in it because its sniping stealth game and it has potential if they done it right.

Another military first-person shooter? No, it won't. We'll all forget about it in a year.
Its not even a shooter my friend.
What do you think the aim in a game called "Sniper" is?
Sniping and stealth. its not FPS. its not shooter. its sniping game.
B-cell's technically in the right of it. A genre is usually based on the core elements rather than inherent features of the work. For instance, you could call Fallout 3 or Metroid Prime FPS's, but few do, because you don't play those games for the same experience you'd get out of a more traditional FPS (those genres would be RPG and first-person adventure respectively). This is more a tactical shooter/stealth game.

On the other hand, never been into sniper games, and given the reception of the previous two, I doubt this would sway me.

Also, "Ghost Warrior." I'm suddenly reminded of the "Ghost" trademark issue between EA and Ubisoft, and the fact that StarCraft: Ghost will never see the light of day. :(

And how is "sniping" not "shooting"?

I've played the first one. There aren't many games I actually hate but that is certainly one of them. Heck, I really dislike Blood Omen 2 but it's still not the same level. Sniper: Ghost Warrior was to put it simple and blunt - complete shit. When I saw that a second one was announced, I felt pity that the guys who made the first game actually got recognition. I also felt sadness that they'd be allowed to continue making the games.

I've sworn off the entire series as soon as I played the first game. And me and my friend (who was the one who had it) managed to collectively suffer around 20 minutes of it altogether. Then he immediately uninstalled it. There hasn't been another game me or him have had installed for such a short time in both of our gaming careers.

It wasn't not even "so bad it's good" like many other bad games could boast - at least Big Rigs has an amusement value. Even fucking Heath: the Unchosen Path[footnote]boy, here's a name I don't think I've seen anybody mention[footnote]Also, I'll be short and quote a review of the game I think is appropriate
GOOD: the most suitable subtitle ever.
BAD: To make it short-everything
[/footnote][/footnote] you can play to just see how bad it can get. But the friggin' Sniper: GW was completely bad all around. In 20 minutes time, both of us couldn't find any redeeming qualities or even a reason why stabbing yourself in the knee with a fork wouldn't be a better use of our time. After it was uninstalled, we had a look at what others thaught and there were some poor bastards who managed to play an hour before the realisation hit them. Some EVEN MORE. My sympathies to them.

This isn't the same game line as Sniper Elite is it? Because I remember Sniper Elite 3 being fairly well received, and I personally enjoyed it a lot. I loved being a sneaky sniper, and thought the mechanics handled it pretty well.

Is this the same game line?

No, it's not. And thank the gods for that - Sniper: Elite was good.

Looks like a very poor man's/woman's Sniper Elite. I'll stick with Sniper Elite. It makes me feel aroused with each well-placed headshot and fuel-tank hit. Mmmmm...

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 was a fairly decent game, and their last FPS game, Enemy Front, was the best WWII game in years.
