Michael Phelps is in trouble, as a photo has surfaced apparently depicting him taking a bong hit.
He has since admitted that it is in fact him in the photo and quickly took the steps to save his public image, saying "I engaged in behavior which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment. I'm 23 years old and despite the successes I've had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me. For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public it will not happen again."
He's probably going to lose some sponsors and his image is tarnished, but I'm sure he'll come out of this alright.
So, could this be used to help the marijuana legalization initiative? If the greatest athlete in history uses it, then it can't be that bad.
