I REALLY don't see what the deal is, I mean fair enough pot is a class C drug in the UK, but it's not exactly performance enhancing, and I know from experience that it's no worse than alcohol, so what gives? Damn press... *Walks off mumbling to himself and occasionally tweeking out*

yeah this is like Ross Rebagliati and also thanx to him. he tested possitive for pot at the olympics and got to keep his medals as it's not performance enhancing

However in the past they have taken titles away for pot use and stated it was.

There was a (I think) winter olympics person who a while back had theirs stripped. They were in downhill skiing or something.

Or maybe we are thinking of the same person and the original statement of it being enhancing was overturned.

Wow that gives me few options. So since I'm his age, and I don't smoke pot that's because I'm acting superior to it?

Damn...I learn something new about me everyday. I figured it was just because I didn't want to >_>

I really don't think it's a big deal...

Also, you know there is at least one guy in Amsterdam reading this thinking "And?"

Weirdest part is he is reading it while his PC is off.

"Wow they really are stepping up the quality of this stuff."

I dont honestly care that he did it but im still pissed at the news of the world for printing this crap. Why would you deface the image of one of history's best olympians, those sort of people are supposed to be role models. So Fuck You news of the world for hording the treasure instead of doing something worthwhile.

Not anymore, they bumped it back up to class B a week or 2 ago. Fuckers. Watch out for that.

Well I don't really smoke it regular anymore, seems as I'm at university and like to remember stuff ;) but agreed that it SHOULDN'T be a class B drug, it just doesn't cause any harm (well not unless your REALLY silly with it).

Matter fact in thinking it further.

He deserves another award for being a stoner that can win 8 gold medals (it was 8 right?) in the goddamn olympics.

Most the stoners I know can barely keep fit enough to not breath heavily after going up a flight of stairs.
He's a freaking Olympian! Not a stoner. A stoner is someone who smokes pot up to the point that it seriously affects their health or behavior. Phelps is an athlete first, then probably something else.

Besides, I doubt he even had a hit of ANYTHING during his training, there just wasn't any time and the press was so far up his ass he wasn't able to take a dump without other people knowing, let alone illegal drugs.

I know that this is a long shot, but how do you know that it is pot? It could very well be something else like tobacco or something.

Sorry for looking all defensive and stuff, but it just seems to me that calling someone who smoked weed a few times a stoner, I just think its kinda ignorant. for all I know you were just exaggerating, in which case I apologize profusely.

]Good job, Micheal Phelps! Now all he needs to do is win 8 more gold medals while stoned.

Winners DO use drugs. Look at Robert Downey Jr. He took a bunch of drugs, and now look at him! Everyone loves him!
It's slightly ironic that he's playing Iron Man now...

Ohh nice. I just get a huge chocolate craving.

I mean, figuratively speaking ofcoarse...
Dude I dive into a box of those big chocolate chip cookies, THEN wash it down with as much rockstar as possible.

Is it sad that I am more interested in the artistic design behind the water pipe and don't even give a damn who this guy is?

As for 'winners don't do drugs.' Cannabis alone has been consumed by 1/3 of the population at some time in their lives. Athletes, Movie stars, music stars for sure, and a lot of other celebs are part of this 1/3. Everyone is part of this 1/3 and 'winners' are no means exempt!

Heh, Phelps looks even more stupid than when he did at the Olympic games. I mean, he's a great swimmer, but he's next to Federer as 'World's Biggest Sporting Asshat'.

Likewise acting like you know any better than me what his situation was is ignorant.

However I'll ignore the hypocrisy of the blanket statements that keep much of your post warm.

He did an amazing thing. Albeit you can't possibly get more medals than him WITHOUT being a swimmer (seriously what are there 900 medals you can win in swimming) I still think the fact he did it is utterly astounding.

Don't eff with Robert Downey Jr. or I'll have to go Rorschach on you and nobody will know where your remains will lie ;). His portrayal (Jr's) of Tony Stark is utterly spot on.

I'm not effing with him, I'm saying that it's ironic that he is playing a character who has drug issues himself. Ironic probably isn't the best word though...
Iron Man is still one of my favorite movies.
