I'm starting a Bachelor course in Communcation and Multimedia Design on a local college next week.

Honestly, I'm nervous as fuck. I've tried 2 college courses before that were both horrible trainwrecks, fell into a black hole of depression and worked at a mindnumbing job for 2 years while slowly recovering from said depression. Now I'm finally going back to school again, and I'm really keeping my fingers crossed.

There is a distinction. A college is an institution with a singular purpose. A university is a collection of colleges. They'll have their own colleges of education, liberal arts, engineering, business, medicine, etc. Each college will have their own dean and staff, but are all subordinate to an overall president of the university.
Ahhh, I was always wondering about that myself as well. There's a clear, educational distinction between the two over here in Holland. College is a more business focussed type of school while university is, of course, academical. You also need a higher level high school diploma to enter university.

I go to a College that became a University right as I joined it 3 years ago, called Mount Royal University.
I am currently taking a BA in Geology, I have been going to University for 3 years (or 6 terms) now, and I either study, game, or watch anime, on my free time. Hanging out with my friends usually gets thrown in on the weekends.

Computer Science at Uppsala University, though I haven't studied since last fall, and it looks like I'll mainly be studying random courses to get enough credit to get money again :/ Not a day goes by without wanting to go back there.

Two years ago, I graduated from Kettering University, located in lovely and scenic Flint, MI (aka, the city with the third highest violent crime rate in the United States), and I studied Computer Science while there.
All you Computer Science studiers- what did you think of the course? I'm thinking of applying to QUB in Northern Ireland this year (4As at AS-ICT/Art/Physics/Spanish), so I'm fairly confident of getting an offer.

I enjoy it. It's good, but don't expect a programming course. Programming languages are included but it's not really what it's about. It's much more about algorithms, logic, CPUs (bits, instructions, gates etc.), project management and math.

Just started my first semester of higher education ever in one of the world's northernmost universities. only reason I'm here right now is that I've got no lectures scheduled for today.

I'm in a government funded certificate level business course with high school dropouts and computer illiterate middle aged women.

I might want to go to university some day, but it's hard to find motivation to commit to things. I don't like anything. No, I like everything just a little. I can't decide.

I quite liked it. The program, at least in my school, focused mainly on logic and algorithmic design more than anything else, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It could have used at least one course that introduced me to C++/C#, but other than that, I have no complaints.

I've since used my degree to get a job developing apps for Android thingamajigs, which I also quite enjoy.

I'm going to a local community college working on a general associate degree. Of course, what I want to do is go to university and get a political science degree, but I didn't have the grades in high school nor the required foreign language, so my options were limited. To make matters worse, I tested into a below college level math class so that kind of dashed any hope of just transferring to a university due to the fact that it has taken me over a year to get up to college level.

I just finished up summer quarter and finally finished university as well- if I passed my class that is, which I'm pretty sure I did.

My major is in Global Studies (world history) and I'm thinking about doing some museum work. I'll probably have to try an internship or volunteer in a museum first and in the meantime work a part time job in a completely unrelated field.

I go to the British equivalent of a university where I study Business Operations Management with Logistics and I start my second year on the 25th of September. I am really looking forward to it :)

I go to Nottingham Trent and before the pompous person inside you says that it's just a polytechnic university, I am going to Nottingham Trent because it's close to home and I didn't get enough to get into Nottingham. However I could have gone to Swansea or Bristol but were to far away for me to feel comfortable
