I think that it has solved problems and created a few as well. Take sniping for example. They have gotten rid of quick scoping which has been the bane of my life until now. I'm all happy about this. The only problem is that now even as a normal sniper you have to take time to aim your shots so with enemies running around left right and centre you will still miss perfectly good shots.
That and also I have only found 2 maps (just about) that support snipers well, yet even then their role seems redundant as you can easily just hit them with an assault rifle with rapid single shots.
The Bad: The problem continues where a sniper has to deal with accuracy issues, but some random guy with an assault rifle can kill you at the same range and not have to wait. The quickscoping fix is a little too aggressive and should maybe be shortened just a bit, maybe tack that onto Scout Pro?
Because knifing range seems to be increased, Marathon Lightweight is pretty close to the old Marathon Lightweight Commando.
Tech problems: The game seems to be more lag-sensitive than MW2 was. I consistently die from apparent one-shot kills and then the kill cam has them hitting me with rounds intermittently for a half-second or more.
The game didn't record the match where I pegged some guy in the head with a crossbow bolt. I don't know what the deal is with Theatre mode, but there isn't much that I want to immortalize and that was it.
It took me 9 attempts to join a lobby, by myself. I have at other times read a chapter of a book while trying to join lobbies with a party.
Spawns are garbage. The maps are all pretty small so you spawn in front of or behind people A LOT.
Prestige levels are less interesting than MW2. There is almost no incentive.
Good things: No One Man Army. Scavenger no longer refills the tube.
The unlock system and Contracts are genius.
The three challenge to unlock a Pro level perk is awesome.
Crossbow.
