having gotten the game on tuesday and playing online yesterday and today, i think the game is far more balanced, no secondary shotguns, melee is improved, killstreaks dont stack, no quickscoping and a few other things i cant remember.

but does this make the game better? oh and do you think black ops has its own problems? i personally find the spawn system infuriating, i dont know how many times ive had people spawn behind me and kill me.

any opinions?

I like the fact that the melee was nerfed, no more diving 20 feet at a dude's foot and carving his face off.
The killstreaks are better, and attack dogs?
Hell yeah!
Spawning can be good, because if you spawn in a really good spot, then kudos to you.
Spawning in front of enemies can be bad, but that happens maybe once a match, and the RC car takes care of campers really well.

All in all, they fixed what was broken, made a couple of mistakes themselves, and generally made it more enjoyable.
Plus, no more L+M+C Pro people dive-knifing from cliffs or spamming infinite rapid-fire noob-tubes.
GRRRRRRR

I think that it has solved problems and created a few as well. Take sniping for example. They have gotten rid of quick scoping which has been the bane of my life until now. I'm all happy about this. The only problem is that now even as a normal sniper you have to take time to aim your shots so with enemies running around left right and centre you will still miss perfectly good shots.

That and also I have only found 2 maps (just about) that support snipers well, yet even then their role seems redundant as you can easily just hit them with an assault rifle with rapid single shots.

I see it this way, Treyarch have made a lot of problems in black ops but they've also improved a lot of the game as well.

Well, spawns are still quite a problem. Today I was playing Domination on Nuketown. 9 vs 9..... holy crap. To be fair, it's a very small map. but I've had trouble with those spawn even on maps like Array.

And Attack Dogs were overpowered. Don't know if they nerfed it.

But it looks like Treyarch did okay with Black Ops

Some of the killstreaks are a real murder round. Seriously.

And, as a frequent care package user, I feel really diry when I get a chopper gunner or something, because that just stops the game right there and the opponents have no other choice but flee in terror.

Dogs are overpowered as fuck. Spawning's really problematic, about Reach levels of problematic.

The claymores are very difficult to spot.

Nuketown is the most random thing ever.

Other than that, it's really really good.

The Bad: The problem continues where a sniper has to deal with accuracy issues, but some random guy with an assault rifle can kill you at the same range and not have to wait. The quickscoping fix is a little too aggressive and should maybe be shortened just a bit, maybe tack that onto Scout Pro?

Because knifing range seems to be increased, Marathon Lightweight is pretty close to the old Marathon Lightweight Commando.

Tech problems: The game seems to be more lag-sensitive than MW2 was. I consistently die from apparent one-shot kills and then the kill cam has them hitting me with rounds intermittently for a half-second or more.

The game didn't record the match where I pegged some guy in the head with a crossbow bolt. I don't know what the deal is with Theatre mode, but there isn't much that I want to immortalize and that was it.

It took me 9 attempts to join a lobby, by myself. I have at other times read a chapter of a book while trying to join lobbies with a party.

Spawns are garbage. The maps are all pretty small so you spawn in front of or behind people A LOT.

Prestige levels are less interesting than MW2. There is almost no incentive.

Good things: No One Man Army. Scavenger no longer refills the tube.
The unlock system and Contracts are genius.
The three challenge to unlock a Pro level perk is awesome.
Crossbow.

The question is did they fix the biggest one? Does it still lack dedicated servers?

Nuketown alone is enough of an apology for their sins. I LOVE that ma(ssive clusterfuck)p. XD
Nuketown is fun. I can't believe that they play Demolition on it -- or that people actually plant both bombs. Great place to get grenade and crossbow kills.

The main campaign is significantly less obnoxious than Modern Warfare 2's. Though unfortunately, the persistence of bad AI and infinitely spawning enemies hampers it, just like it did for Modern Warfare 1 and 2.

And for god's sake, Treyarch, of all the obnoxious quick-time events, WHY THE FUCK DID YOU HAVE TO KEEP THE ATTACKING DOG ONE?!

It fixes most of them, but good god the spawning...hell, I had the same complaints about the checkpoint respawns in the campaign. Other than that, and a couple bad maps (I HATE that targeting range one. All the snow maps on the otherhand are just awesome.) They don't have too many problems. Knifers are a lot less frequent, but they're still there. Not liking the campaign that much, though...it's checkpoint/respawn system is just taking away any fun I would have been having otherwise.

I was trying to put the GL on the Galil, but It would work with my optical sights, so I go and looki it up on COD wikia, to find out they utterly nerfed the GL... thus, Treyarch wins.

BTW, if anyone was curious, I was trying to do the "my little friend" contract.

*Edit*

...and I HATE the tomahawk...

The only thing I don't like about it is the sniping. They made it too hard to snipe normally as well, and there is no real proper sniper maps to play on...

I thought mw2 was a broken and rubbish title in campain and in the multiplayer black ops has removed MY biggest issues with cod
:quickscoping is gone hurrah!
:weapons are all decent in there own way
:nube-tube nerfed but still efective(great compremise)
:all perks have a use(I have flack jacket and hacker on one class, it works really well)
:awsome campaign wiith very good story for a cod game
:no more tac-knifers(balistic knife require's skill)

I'll put it this way. I didn't buy MW2 because I thought it was an insult to PC gaming, but I bought Blops a couple of days after release.

I like it. I suck at it, yet I still keep playing because I want to get better and because I want to make the most badass Player Card ever.

No, there are only dedicated servers now. At least on PC.
