I am curious if there other companies that handle plot and characters as well as Bioware has. If that's the case I would love to know because right now, if Bioware went bankrupt, I would be a sad gamer.
Ahh, yea. Ever heard of Black Isle/Trokia/Obsidian ?

Go play some Planescape Torment, Mask of the Betrayer expansion for NWN2, Arcanum and Vampire: Bloodlines. They do better choices and consequences than Bioware too.

I heard Planescape was quite good so maybe I'll check out. I even heard that it is lauded as one of the greatest RPGs of all time. Most likely amongst these selections I would try Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, because I love World of Darkness. Thanks for bringing it up. Still, none of these games are current gen and Obsidian's got to release a game that isn't a buggy mess.

DAII might be garbage to you, but its not to everyone,
It sold badly compared to its predecessor and was met with largely lukewarm (leaning negative) reaction from fans.

Sure, some people liked it. Some people like McDonald's more than five star restaurants, that doesn't make it better.

ME3 ending might not have been that great to you, but others didnt mind it, and others still liked it.
Good, let them buy Mass Effect 4. If Bioware likes "artistic integrity" more than customer satisfaction they are perfectly within their rights to continue churning out Star Child obscurantist crap. If they can sell that to people, great. I won't be buying it, and from the loud howling noises coming from Bioware's forum it seems like a lot of others agree.

Your OPINION about a particular aspect of any game does not invalidate the rest of it,
I refuse to get into the "well everything is just subjective!" argument.

First off, just wanted to clarify that I was not trying to push a "everything is just subjective" aspect, because you are 100% correct, those are stupid arguments to have.

What I am saying though is that while there is nothing wrong with not liking.. well not liking anything, there is something wrong with blindly consenting to the "internet opinion". Not saying that you are, but in general there is a lot of "Me too's" and "Yeah that suck's" by people to join a consensus and be one of the cool kids by proxy.

To put in perspective, you don't like ME3 and DA2 (totally fine), and I do. If you were to go on tirad's about how its utter shit and the company is complete crap and everything they have ever done was shit, you would get more people agreeing with you then I would recounting all of the good aspects of those same games. Its easier to just "auto-hate" something then come up with and defend a reason you like it with a reasonable argument/discussion. It then turns into the "Auto-Hate" group shitting on the product, and "Fanboy-loving" throwing a hissy fit/arguing about no... and the rest of us (which I frankly think is the majority) not giving about 0.5 of a fuck because we beat it/didn't buy it/waiting for it to be cheaper

So, again not to get into any type of subjective argument, but the point still does stand that unless it is universally hated/loved, there is always going to be some subjective aspects to any of these "discussions"

I totally see where you're coming from, but in DA2's case I don't know anyone IRL who actually liked the game. Most people I know don't HATE it, but all of them were disappointed. I can't speak for Panda, but that's where I get my sense that DAII is widely regarded as a flop.

Considering a majority of the people who liked the series seem to prefer the first one, which played sluggish as shit and the story was the least original story to have ever been created in all of history, I think no matter what it's going to be put down in the history books as a total flop.

It's a shame though, DA2 could have been awesome if it had actually been finished. Anyone who spent three hours with it knows it wasn't.

Well, as someone who enjoyed Dragon Age II and didn't ***** about the ME3 ending. I'm sure I'll be happy with what they give us.
Same here, and I can't help but think that we're in the majority, albeit a quiet majority.

TBH DA2 wasn't that bad, it had some flaws and wasn't as good as the original, but that can be said of any sequel ever.

The truth is that nerds just like to ***** and will always find something to ***** about.

We'll see won't we? I loved DAO, and I liked DA2, and from the sounds of it Bioware listened to the complaints that people had about DA2 and are going to address them for DA3.

I think I'm cautiously optomisitc overall.

...but the thought of witnessing another Bioware induced shitstorm of online bickering is not a particularly appealing one.
On the contrary, that would definitely be the highlight of DA3 for me.

I won't be buying anything solely released on Origin, but I honestly considered all the internet drama around ME3 to be worth the game's price already. Nothing is quite as entertaining as the anguished cries of a million fanboys.
I suppose that's one way of looking at it.

I remember being highly entertained by the feeble mewling of those folks who tried to defend Alpha Protocol when it tanked.
Aye, the drama surrounding it was, and is, quite entertaining - even though I personally really enjoyed the game.

BioWare has been a big asset to EA and they are in no way shutting them down.
Isnt that what they said about westwood and bullfrog?

It can be said but whether it is true depends on the case.

Perfect sequels do exist - sequels that objectively improve upon most if not all qualities of their predecessors. Assassin's Creed 2, Diablo 2, Portal 2, Ratchet & Clank 2, Silent Hill 2, Spider-man 2, Zone of Enders 2, Street Fighter 2... any of these names ringing a bell?

I'll probably enjoy it, since BioWare games are still entertain me greatly. But I think Dragon Age 3 will be one of the most interesting games to watch around its release. The company has never had to come back from such a negative response. It'll be popcorn time whenever it comes out, no matter whether you love them or hate them.
i have this... feeling that even if the game is a supurb product that improves on what i think is the best game of the year so far, mass effect 3, that it will still be hated because it's a bioware game, and fankids got their feelings hurt because ME 3's ending wasnt initially good.

From the games that I have played I have to agree with all of those. There's plenty more you can add to the list as well: Any TES game after Arena, Sonic 2, Mortal Kombat 2, Super Smash Bros Melee, Baldur's Gate 2... I am sure there are more.

i dont think you're a fanboy/biodrone, i think you are being a reasonable person. the only people who hate bioware because of DA II/ ME 3 are people who feel entitled to the type of game THEY want, not the ones they got.

that line is more there for one user who(if he hasnt been banned yet) will be quoteing me later saying those exact words as he tends to troll bioware related forums.

yes it kinda is but whats worse is its kinda right. while not all who hated DA2 and mass effect 3 are entitled (i dont beleave you are) the majority of those people are.
