Yea, nothing more makes me take a person seriously than something meant for children who don't understand the simple concept of shoe tying. Get real shoes.

Velcro is acceptable on shoes only if one of these criteria are met; A child, mentally impaired, an amputee, or on sandals. Other use your damn laces.

On a more serious note, I dont really care what you tie your shoes with, sure I can see the childish connotations attached to velcro wearers and if someone rocked up to an interview in a suit with Velcro attached to their business shoes I'd probably think they're a bit touched, but whatever floats your boat I guess.

P.S I apologise if any words seem massively out of place, but im on my phone so without a doubt it autocorrected something it shouldn't have.

To quote Lynn Stone: "Velcro. Next to the Walkman and tab it is the coolest invention of the 20th century! "

I guess it's seen as baby's first shoe so like games and cartoons which tend to be associated with children it gets a bad wrap when worn by older people.

I don't see a problem.

Also please all escapists the collective term for us is Escapists.
I know that the term is escapist, but I was trying to mix it up a bit, y'know?
Uh... I used Escapees[sup]tm[/sup] in a very big, popular thread in the last two weeks... It gets lots of Flak, and it was my idea :p Gimme royalties!

I have velcro takkies for dirtier work, they are convenient.

Oh, I guess it could be because velcro is identified witrh light-up firetruck shoes, but that could be changed!
Why would anyone want to change that? That's awesome! :D

There's a stigma? I wear velcro shoes because I can't be bothered with laces most of the time, unfortunately I walked through the bottom of my nice velcro shoes a few weeks ago so I'm stuck with laces at the moment.

I'll never understand people who wear shoes until they're broken. That's insane, looks lazy and is embarrassing.

is it still an adults shoe or does it look like a giant child's shoe? that may be the reason instead of the fact that they are Velcro. Anyway I prefer laces. I don't tie them I just tuck them in but I don't have any horrible ripping sounds and if I want the shoes on tight then I can tighten them and tie them... then tuck the loops in so they don't come undone :p. That is the only draw-back with laces. Oh and for my school shoes I have tied the ends of the laces together and I just stand on them in the shoe. They just become slippers :p

It's magic and I don't understand it, therefor I hate it!
Personally the sound is just nails in my ears, it's a ***** to clean and there is that whole childrens clothing stigma to it... if you want to get laid you better not be wearing any velcro.

If I like a pair of shoes, I'm going to get all the use I can out of them.

The only reason somebody should do that is because they can't afford it, and in that case I still find myself fully justified in mocking them.

I can afford new shoes, but why would I when I have a perfectly good pair that is just getting a bit worn? If you want to mock me for that, that is up to you. I will respond by pointing out the hole if your wallet from buying all those new pairs of shoes.
