Hahaha, my Mom was criticizing my CoD4 game when i pointed out she likes NCIS, a show where they killed people and don't give a shit, she couldn't make a counter point.

I got my dad involved in some of the puzzles in Assassin's Creed II. He actually kinda liked it, and not just the puzzles.

Also, this.

That scene made her cry? You need to get yourself a less sensitive girlfriend. If my (theoretical) girlfriend cried over something like that I'd dump her for being a wuss.
My girlfriend cried because I killed a moth. Yeah.

I don't think I've ever managed to emotionally involve any family in my gaming but quite often I'll be playing a game on the Xbox, and when my mother comes in she's always like 'Wow, those graphics are amazing. It almost looks real'.

Good god, she cried in Gears of War?

I wouldn't want her to see the sad scenes of Metal Gear Solid or Final Fantasy X.

Jesus Christ, man she might go insane with sadness after seeing that.

No offense to her in anyway but I'm glad something got her into games I guess.
Funny, I thought almost the exact same thing, and you mentioned the only game that has sent me damn close to tears. Man, I still get a bit misty eyed when I see the end of FFX. Hell, even the song To Zanarkand still gets me.

The post-credits(at least the voice acting credits) of MGS4 made me cry.

Either she would cry enough to fill an ocean, or my manhood is in question.
If it's any consolation, I cried in all MGS games except the first one. Not just a little. I cried like a little *****.

Every time I play them.

Haha I have to agree. It's interesting to see how emotional some (notice some) women can be. Jesus, I'd hate to see her play through Red Dead Redemption or Metal Gear Solid 4...

Awesome.

I got Shadow of the Colossus for christmas.

My ENTIRE family watched me play through the first 5 or 6 colossi without telling me to stop using the tv. It struck them heavily. From that day on they never criticized my video game playing.
Same thing happened with my dad and Bad Company 1. He really was drawn by the early cut scenes. He said it felt like a long campy army film rather than a game. Oh and he also thought it was manly for me to play. I think he though I was playing some lord of the rings games or something. (He's uncomfortable with stuff like that)

This, 1000x this.

Most games try to do this, but forget you need to be attached to a character to care when something bad happens to them.

I would cry too if I saw my boyfriend playing Angry Closet Homosexuals in Space.

OT: I never really cried during a game cutscene, usually because I can't relate to the characters. Although I did cry when I realized how stupid Resident Evil 4 and 5 are.

My sister once made the mistake of trying to show me that video games dont require any real skill to play. I warned her not to do this but she boots up the 360. The disk in the tray is Bioshock. She made it to the 1st big daddie before she stopped and never again critized games. She still critisizes me, but not the games.

EDIT:
