I cried when Mai Waifu Tali died from a shot to the face with a rocket after trying to close the door. Just kidding, dumbass deserved it, she was just looking outside the door for no reason at all when she shoulda just kept her head inside. All other death scenes at least a good reason but that one was so contrived.

I mean who are you going to mourn:
"Here lies Grunt who was carried away by a seeker swarm"
or
"Here lies Tali who got headshot by a slow moving rocket"

Mass Effect 2 was great i only ended up losing Grunt and Mordin. Grunt died from escorting the crew back so i found the loyality system to be fakeish after that -_-

Most of the time i'm crying during games is because i've been playing them so long ;D
Emotionless brute of a mother didn't even feel anything at THAT part of Red Dead Redemption and asked me when the final MGS cutscene would end

Awesome.

I got Shadow of the Colossus for christmas.

My ENTIRE family watched me play through the first 5 or 6 colossi without telling me to stop using the tv. It struck them heavily. From that day on they never criticized my video game playing.
See, I only wish my friends or family had enough patience and curiosity to actually sit down for a short while and let a game like that hit them where it hurts. Everyone I know is unfortunately stupid though.

Speaking of Bioshock that game had the best plot of any game but thats just me
The "good" endings to both of those games are heartwarming, and tearjerking. The games themselves I didn't really enjoy more than any other random FPS, but those endings were fantastic.

i Recommended the game to my Sister and she called me right after she made it to this scene..whats cool is that Gears of War is seen as a masculine game but still manages to have a strong effect on a whole of society. I like how games play with emotions for me it creates a lasting affect
I'm fine with your statement except for the whole Gears of War part. That scene was about as tear jerking as the hour of killing hostiles before it. If you had given a more legitimate game like Shadow of Colossus or even Fallout 3 to a certain degree I would have agreed with you.

Just goes to show how the general public thinks of games in the old arcade style and how their view on them can change when they see it's another medium for telling a story like a book, song or film.

I know what part you are you are talking about, it was probably one of the saddest parts of a game that I have ever experienced.

They came back from outside while i was fighting number 3: Gaius. Then they watched me kill the next 3 or 4. I can't really remember, it was quite a while ago. They just so happened to walk in on the right moment with the right music.

It also helped that i was playing it on a massive tv.

Now imagine if you got her to play Lost Odyssey.
^^This.

That was and still is one of the best RPGs I have ever played
Thirded. The storytelling in that game was top notch.

If it had some sort of original gameplay, it would easily be my favorite game of all-time.

Yeah, that moment was a surprisingly emotional and tragic one, considering Gears' past storytelling. I was impressed.

And yes, video games tell stories. Like any other artistic storytelling medium, they can really play with people's emotions, and the best ones do.

Haha can't say I would start playing a game because it made me cry but, you know, whatever works. :) Personally I would have started playing Gears after watching the gameplay (especially that part inside that Giant...thing. I don't know, I didn't actually see much of it.

But that happened to me, sort of, with L4D2. My friend hated the game, then she saw a tank, screamed at it and now, for some reason, she's better at beating them then I am!

Hey, some games really managed to make you feel.
Final Fantasy VI, World of Ruin. Cid. Just Cid.
"Eat the fish! Please, eat the fish!"
Brought me to tears.
