Two years too early, dammit!

I'm not really concerned, though. I mean, we all gotta die someday.

Looks like a bunch of bullshit.

Just like every other Doomsday theory.
Most bullshit doomsday theorys say that "Yeah, We might die in the next thousand years or something, can I have my geology degree now?". This theory is saying it will happen in the next six months. As far as bullshit doomsday theorys go, that's pretty ballsy.

*sigh* ANOTHER Doomsday theory. Honestly, what's with all the gloom and doom in the later half of the 2000s? Ever since about 04, hell, even in 00 if you count y2k, it's been nothing but "WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" And every idea they've had so far turns out to be false.

...what? No they don't. They typically say "We'll die in the next 4 years or less"

I know not of one doomsday theory that doesn't have it's date set past the next 10 years, neither can I remember any that did.

There's also about 5 doomsday theories for about every...eh, I don't know, year or so, so this isn't much of a surprise when put against the other 2 that are set for this year.

So this gas bubble is going to kill everyone again? And how small was 96% of the population then, compared to the billions of people in the population now? I think if anything does happen, we'll be fine.

Y2k was predicted in the 70's (back when there would have been a real problem with bank computers before they fixed it)

and 2012 is from an ancient calendar(combined with new age misunderstanding)

they just happen to gain media attention within 5 years of when they predicted

This would be a good time for God, the aliens or the great sysadmin in the sky to reveal themselves and fix things for us. At this point science is only telling us all of the horrifying possible ways that civilisation is going to fall and we are going to die.

Doomsday money betting logic time: I'd bet my money on no doomsday. I mean, I can't really lose there. I lose bet, I don't have time to worry about loss of money. If I win, I get to live with money.

Oh. I thought Y2K wasn't predicted till the 90s

2012 is based on a Mayan calendar but in no way predicts doom. Just a bunch of idiots who recently got bored and decided to say "Hm, how can we get a lot of attention? Oh I know, lets say this means that the world's gonna end soon"

That's what I keep wondering. Asteroid collisions, supercanes, global climate change, second hand smoke, and now this. Maybe we should all start digging our own graves in our back yards.
