So yes, according to the upcoming OXM there is a Halo 2 HD remake on the way, what are your thoughts fellow escapees?

I concur, I would love to see all the halo 2 multiplayer maps back in the game, and if they remade it in HD then that would just be a bonus.

Halo 2 was my favorite game of the series.
The story was awesome because it openned up the idea that the galaxy was more than "Shoot the evil aliens" and the gameplay and enviroments were some of the best in the series.
That said the new shield system that continued all the way through Halo 3 was rather annoying. But a minor blip on what is otherwise one of my favorite games of all time.

The only reason I was interested in the Halo CE remake is because Halo CE doesn't have a widescreen mode, and the Anniversary edition made it widescreen, which finally made it playable again in my eyes (I HATE it when I play a game and it's got black bars on the sides). Halo 2 was already in widescreen do I don't really care if it has an HD remake. From what I remember the graphics were good enough that updating them won't really increase my enjoyment of the game by a whole lot.

Well Halo 2 on PC is pretty barren now, I check on there every now and again and there's only normally 4 or 5 games that are working properly, even then the PC version is a bit of a mess when it comes to multiplayer. I prefer 2 for MP as well solely because it has the Battle Rifle, my favourite game weapon of all timeZ of the Na said:
Also even though Combat Evolved is still "going strong" on PC, it is nothing compared to playing a (decent) halo game when the population is huge, I just want that to happen again for a well balanced and fun Halo game that's more like 2 or 3 and not reach. Combat Evolved is also quite old now and I wouldn't mind playing a more up to scratch less buggy game.
I've heard a lot about Halo 2's multiplayer and how it was the best in the series, but sadly I got hooked too late to test that...come to think of it, Halo 2 is the only Halo game that I haven't played. Like the others say I hope it has it's own multiplayer mode and not another Halo Reach map pack...though with Halo 4 so close I don't know why they would still be working on Reach DLC. Eh, I'll probably buy it, mainly so that I'll have finally played all of the original Halo games.

It has been happening but they never said they wanted to release each year and while it may seem like that, they said that Halo 5 was not going to come out the following year, and I don't know if the OXM is true since recently it said that they weren't working on Halo 2 HD.erttheking said:

Halo 2 was my favorite of the first 3. The arbiter missions were the best evah.
So more power to them. But what, will they come out of Halo 3 HD next? Not sure how that would work...
