So has everyone had a good craic?

So St Patrick's Day is over by almost every reckoning, and I was just wondering what everyone had done for it.

Personally I don't drink, so I mostly stayed home and played Final Fantasy IX, but then tonight from 10 I was playing at a bar on Donegall Street (I'm living in Belfast) and it was a great night. Good crowd, all drunk in a very friendly way, and I got to play a lot of songs I haven't played in a while, like Thin Lizzy and U2, because everyone wanted the Irish songs, even from an Englishman.

So how about you? Do you celebrate it. Did you? Even just drinking a lot?

For those curious 'craic' is an Irish expression, meaning 'vibe, atmosphere, time.' So when you ask 'good craic?' It's a way of saying 'good time?'

I spent the day shopping at Ikea, putting together Ikea furniture, writing reviews, and playing baseball.

So it was an okay day.

The sun made me feel weird so I took a xanax and wrote a rap that would blow the clothes off anyone in a battle against me. Then I watched the IT crowd for a while.

I worked, then came home and drank some whiskey. Second Saturday I've worked in 7 years, and I was very annoyed about it. Although I've never seen the point of St Patricks day. So he cleared Ireland of snakes. It's a fucking island. I can't imagine a snake dumb enough to swim across the British channel from France to England, let alone a snake dumb enough to slither it's way across England, jump in the ocean again and swim to Ireland. And my Mom's side of the family is Irish, and Catholic, and still not one shit has ever been given.

I wore green boxers in an effort to make my father think I wasn't wearing green when I was so I could punch him after he pinched me. My ingenious plan failed due to my father's apathy towards this rather minor holiday. Foiled again by pointlessness.

I had corned beef and cabbage for dinner. I also played some LoL, watched some TV, and had a couple of whiskey and cokes. It didn't actually hit me until I saw this thread that that was why my dad made corned beef tonight, though; I figured he was just in the mood for it XD

(We're not Irish, or at least what Irish is in us is a very small percentage; there's a lot of Scottish blood in my family, though.)

I did chores, went out to lunch with my Husband and his cousin, did more chores, ordered something online, watched my cousin-in-law play L.A. Noire, ate dinner, played KOA:Reckoning, currently watching Judge Judy (which is becoming a nightly ritual); heading to bed fairly soon.

As I was typing this out, I realized that I hadn't had a drink all day to celebrate St.Patrick's Day. lol Perhaps I'll have at least one shot or something before bed, or not. It's not a exactly a big deal to me.

I didn't celebrate St. Patrick's Day but I did have a James Squire: Four Wives Pilsner (it's a beer) and it was worth the $4 that I paid for it. Also, I continued Final Fantasy 13 for a little while and then I played Wolfenstein (2009).

I drank...but that had nothing to do with St Paddy's day. I just have a fondness for beer and bourbon.

Also, I have minimal Irish heritage (If any. I just say "minimal" because I haven't checked that far back in my genealogy. I know there's lots of Austrian and German in there). But that doesn't stop lots of people here in America from going "Woooo! I'm Irish!" even though their family was Irish...six generations ago.

I wore green not knowing it was St. Paddy's day.

I've been studying for my finals. I'm officially running on coffee, water, and soda. Sadly no alcohol.

..I'm so hitting the gym after all this is over...

Well, started drinking at 10am, dropped my phone in a (clean) toilet at about 2pm, passed out, woken up by the hotel concierge cause my missus was waiting for me in the lobby and then watched some Harry Potter in between great sex.

Yea, good day, but I might quit the drink for a while. Causing me too much trouble these days.

Was playing Tribes: Ascend until my girlfriend came over. The rest of the evening was spent eating tacos and cuddling.

Note on the title, there's no 'a'. When you use that it's ' 'did you have the craic?' or 'was it good craic?'.

OP: I was hungover for Paddy's Day so no celebrations were had. Made up for it on Friday though.

well, I had to work, but ended up going out and getting drunk instead, now I've got to make up for it by getting up at a decent time today and not sit on the escapist or play games :(
