So how bad is your taste in music guys?

If you listen to metal you can by default consider yourself a "diverse" listener. So many metal bands incorporate a multitude of elements to the point where they transcend genres. Opeth, Dark Tranquility, Orphaned Land, Summoning...

Those who listen to it know what I speak of.

That being said: Metal, classical, jazz, 70's rock, videogame soundtracks, movie soundtracks, techno. Metal however is my first love.

I listen to a ton of different stuff. I mostly like rock, especially classic rock, but I'm open to almost anything. I do repeat almost, however.

I have a rather schizophrenic taste in music. I like little bits of most stuff. For example, theres Dragon Force, Bullet for my Valentine and Biffy Clyro on the metal end of the spectrum, heading down trhough Blink 182 and MCR in the more standard rock, some pop rock with the likes of All Time Low. Then at the other end is some 80's Meat Loaf and Aerosmith. I even occasionally dabble in more orchestral stuff coming from games/tv or from drama productions i've been a techie for.

Generally I can enjoy most stuff, so long as there is actual talent with a musical instrument. Something thats taken practice and effort, not 10 mins in front of a computer creating a repetitive beat for some fool to wail along too.

This. I can like pretty much anything, and I find describing my tastes in terms of genres or bands constraining. I'm not loyal to any band or genre, there are a few I like more than others but that doesn't make me a fan. I'm a mercenary for good music.

But overall i just love music a lot, whatever the genre, if the song is brilliant I'll listen to it.

As I love both Hip-Hop and Classical Romantic Piano of the 19th Century, my tastes probably don't adhere to those of many around here, but I'd consider it decent taste - if there is such a thing.

The two seem somewhat contrary, but they provide a nice buffer off each other.

I just alternate between listening to Nyan cat and the crazy bus soundtrack on eternal loop ,yes I am badass.

Only joking I suppose I mainly listen to a mixture of 60s rock, heavy metal (early like sabbath), Jpop/rock, Video game soundtracks the occasional film soundtrack, comedy songs (monty python, Benny Hill etc and some 90s rock and occasional cheesy songs from the 80s.

My taste is pretty broad but I dont tend to like any bands as such just usually one or two songs from a lot of different groups but if its rap,pop or dance music odds are I wont like it.

Some of the songs I like are really actually pretty crap its just I think they are fun but I dont think my taste is entirely lacking in fact in liking some songs I am years ahead of my time, yeah thats right, ahead *ahem*. Dont try and shatter my glass house of delusion it took me years to build.
