Bad Religion. In small doses. Their lyrics are pretty crap, I can't deny.
There is not a DAMNED thing wrong with those lyrics.
Yes there is. They're stating things that we already know and they're trying to sound rebelious about it.
What on earth are you even trying to say?

We already know? We who and how is it relevant?

Rebellious how? In a bad way how?

"Rebelling" is sometimes a good thing. In this case "we" is a small minority of people who understand the negative impact of Christianity on American culture. Rebelling, means making a statement against the Christian majority who are a problem, and hopefully inspire others to do the same, instead of submitting to their BS.

I think that there's a problem with what YOU'RE saying, ridiculing those who have the bravery to be out of the closet about problems they see in society.
Sorry, I'm not a lyrical critic, so I will be crap.
What I meant was, the lyrics sound like something a 14-year-old who just discovered atheism and anarchy would say. There is nothing to stimulate one's mind into thinking about any issues that might be presented within the song. It's all so bloody simple, if you're over 15 and have had internet acess to fstdt.net

The Christian majority? Dude, it's the vocal minority, the fundamentalists, you have to worry about. Joe Q. Christian isn't a threat to anybody, damn it.
Oh yes, because if you stand up to the EVUL Christians you'll get flogged and burned at the stake. Not even in the most backwards of the States would that happen. Publicly, at least.

I don't know about you, but even back in the 90s when that video was made people were publicly talking about problems. No big deal. Unless we were in China or North Korea would that be SO HARDCORE.

I don't even know what the heck that's supposed to mean. So if a teenager becomes an atheist, their opinion is obviously bad?

That's not necessarily the case. And also, it doesn't have to require SO MUCH THOUGHT to be good. That's like criticizing Redskins material for being Leftist anthems.

It's no wonder you dislike the lyrics so much, you disagree with the message entirely.

The mainstream Christian religion is a threat to scientific progression and minorities. And religion has largely been a dividing device and still is used for such. A lot of the hatemongering.

This is like saying "klu klux klansmen are no longer than bad, except a minority of extremists". Their ideas are still putrid and harmful and show damage. Far reaching social damage, even. All the kids gay kid's who've committed suicide, didn't do so because of "a vocal minority".

You'll most likely have a harder time finding a job if you're an out of the closet atheist.

The chances of you getting voted into office are slim.

There's widespread discrimination against you in general if you decided to go against the beliefs of the Christian majority.

And people, according to you, should just shut up, and go along with the majority, just because it's not "so hardcore" and because you might not get beaten to death for it?

This is like saying songs against racism with simple lyrics are dumb and rebellious and hateful, because black people are no longer being lynched.

I fucking love dubstep and heavy bass music. All that wobbly, glitchy, freaked out rhythm & noise. Mmm. That's the good shit.

Judging by the popular reaction on the internet, I have terrible tastes.I beg to differ, but that's the nature of taste.

Terrible tastes never sounded so good.

Good thing I like all music. Er, mostly. Not a fan of violent, screaming metal. Or top-40 country. Both grate against my sensibilities, in similar yet different ways. Similar in the sense that both make me want to escape the room. Different in that only one makes me want to punch a kitten before I escape.

I like a little of everything.

When I was little I loved pop, growing up I moved into heavy metal of various types, now I'm strongly into Dark Cabaret and more "goth" stuff.

I'll listen to damn near any genre though.
I dislike most country but enjoy John Cash, Willie Nelson & Kris Kristofferson.

As to artists I currently listen to a good bit.

Emilie Autumn, Abney Park, Aurelio Voltaire, Poets of the Fall, Within Temptation.

Probably the 'oddball' act I like would be Demi Lovato, who I only know of due to my nieces visiting and watching Disney a couple years back.
She's about the only pop/mainstream act of the last 5 years or so I've bought music of.
