Now I'm just letting everyone know this is just personal experience, and before this I never had a problem Purchasing my games off of Amazon. Only given recent events I am never giving them my business video-game wise again. So I pre-ordered a copy of Gears of War: Judgement, having been promised additional characters and weapons for multiplayer. Unfortunately I did not receive any code to redeem with the game case or in an e-mail, so I called customer service and in about a week I had received those codes through e-mail. This I don't mind because I understand that these things happen all the time with pre-orders and are easily rectifiable.
Now very close to the same time this was happening I had also pre-ordered Bioshock: Infinite SPECIFICALLY for the Xbox 360 (Proof in an e-mail that they sent me on first purchase). Let us not forget that it was the limited edition I had ordered which had certain content that is literally impossible to obtain after release. After I had eagerly waited for it to show up on my doorstep it had finally arrived. Being an avid fan of Bioshock you could say that I was giddier than a kid in a candy store. I opened the box (which first of all was squished, like someone stood on the damnable thing) and upon opening I realized that they had sent me the PS3 version. I was pretty furious after talking to them on the phone and hearing how little they could do for me. This being just to send it back and receive the regular copy, no refund for the difference in pay for the limited edition as opposed to the normal one, and all things not tied to redeemable code such as the art book and keychain had to be sent back with it. So Preeetty ridiculous.
Now after aaaaaall that garbage, they sent me this e-mail that for me questions the intelligence of some of the people working at Amazon. Let me quote the meat and potatoes of the e-mail word for word.
" Hello from Amazon.ca.
I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused you.
I understand you've mistakenly purchased PS3 version instead of xbox version for the " Gears of War: Judgment (Bilingual) ".
*Since you've ordered the xbox version of this game, so it is not possible to qualify for preorder bonus offer for this item.
Right now, all of the information we have on this item is on the product description page. Our information is limited to what the Manufacturer supply to us; this information appears on our website.
Therefore, if you still have any questions about the preorder bonus offer, you may contact manufacturer directly."
Ugh......clearly they have never heard of console exclusives.
So anyways, do any of you use Amazon for your games? If so, have you had anything like this happen to you? Let me know what outlet works for you that you can recommend to me and everyone else on this forum..
*On a side note, the line marked with the star is legitimately word for word.
