Yeah so.. For this generation I decided to move away from consoles and instead invest in a desktop. (This is mostly thanks to the wonderful amount of space simulators that have been announced and my laptop really won't do anymore. Even if it is pretty strong for a laptop)
So my problem is... I don't own a desktop at the moment, and I am nervous about assembling one. Don't get me wrong, I am pretty technical actually, but to really build one from scratch without any experience? I don't want to risk it. I think I will feel more secure in making a one time investment in a 'pre-essembled desktop' and then upgrade it in the future... To you know... Make sure it will actually work.
Anyway I've been trying to read up on building PCs and increase my knowledge... But everytime that I start looking for shops I just get overwelmed by the ammount of dealers. I've been trying to make a list of good dealers but all that I ended up with was a general idea...
I think my preference goes to a non-brand shop that essembles a pc for me.. They often seem cheaper for more pow.. Plus I figure their PCs will be easier to upgrade on my own later on.
Anyway I was hoping you could all share some tips with a greenhorn like me.
(Be it good computer dealers, a nice starter setup or any interesting story or experience you would like to share... Websites where I could find useful information are welcome too. Right now I'm learning mostly from logicalincrements )
Thanks y'all.
