Good thing you didn't live a few hundred years ago, when chicks got married with old men by the age 10.
True, but then again it was a different time and more than half the time the marrige was a contract to make the parents richer.
It was, and I'm astonished that this time we live in, when people say they are being 'open-minded' and stuff, there are still things they automatically deem sick and twisted. I think everyone should just chill the fuck down and let others do whatever they want. Of course, it's paradoxal that I'm saying this, since that implies I'm telling other what to do, which in turn is.. let's not get there, okay?

Anyhow, the point is that humans are sexual beings, moreso than other animals, which leads me to wonder why most people are so stuck-up about it. After all, it's just a physical act performed for pleasure. Big deal. It's like eating ice cream.

Impossible, hormones start going crazy before then.
Yeah, what I meant to say was they should seriously start thinking about it at the age of 16, hell I was thinking about it when I was 13 too, but I wouldn't have done it then, whats the point?
Finding out what a kid's like?

A few hundred years ago? Try within the last century. It was only with the widespread epidemic of mass communication and culture did Christianity ruin it for EVERYONE.

I lost mine at the age of eight but didn't become sexually active until fourteen.

(long story short, I was walking home, got invited into a girls house I went to school with and she had two other giggling harpies who wanted to play doctor)

It should really be evaluated on a case by case basis. Some 14 year olds are ready for sex, while some 25 year olds are not.
I totally agree, in every relationship I have been in I always let my girlfriend decide how far we went. I did this so not to put pressure on them and I am very glad that I did. I was 17 when I lost mine and it was great.

I think about 15 is good. I'm 17 and only just starting to think about it. Honestly, my previous partners never really interested me sexually.

It's more a big deal when they do the act of pleasure and have a child that they aren't ready for populating the orphanages even more causing the taxpayer to pay for some 15 yearolds dumbass mistake. However I mostly blame the idiots who don't teach kids that a condom or pill can basically stop pregnancy, and essentialy help society, because some religious "morality" stating that it's a sin to stop a life.

I believe Chef made the age people should start having sex perfectly clear.
17

Personally, I don't give a crap about age. My rule of thumb is that you shouldn't have sex if you aren't able to support a family. So sixteen in some states, by twenty-one in all of them; after college probably smarter.
If you're having sex and you are not gainfully employed, you should probably work on the employment issue before having more sex. If it's age, you should wait(or stop if it's old age). If it's criminal history, that probably should have stopped people already but if it hasn't you should stop. If it's anything else, you should still probably attend to the issue first.

well While i was still in middle school (years 6-8 for non-Americans) it wasn't unheard of for a student to be pregnant. Truthfully if i had had the opportunity i probably would have leaped at the chance for sex at 13. most people are physically ready for sex around 12-13 (the start of puberty) psychologically however most people are ready about 20 or so depending on maturity.

I was 12 or 13 when I started thinking about it which seems to right around average. Didn't lose it until I was 17, few months before 18, not so bad really. Around those ages are perfectly fine as long as I'm concerned. As long as people aren't stupid about, and know what they're doing, can't say too much else.

17 and still haven't bothered.
I feel I'd rather do it with someone I actually like, not half the bitches that turn up at parties looking for a shag.

Am I some twisted freak here?

I honestly started thinking about men, being attracted to them, imagining what it would be like to have sex and masturbating when I was seven or eight years old.

Now actually considering having sex for real, with someone I knew and not just some fantasy? Sixteen. Didn't have sex until I was eighteen, tho.

EDIT: no I don't think kids should have sex. Thirteen is young. Fifteen or sixteen is acceptable.

Well, I wanted to at 17... yes, late, but since we're all taught to assume we're straight I was totally uninterested in it. I'm 18 now, so not too bad.

My girlfriend and I were 15, I was rubbish. But improved with practice. :)

We never regretted it, but I guess it depends on the people and the situation.

On topic, no 14.5 is not too young to be, believable, wanting sex. Whether not it's a good idea is anyone's guess.

I say 18, you're in no condition to handle to potential consequences before then. ...that's what I think anyway.
