I got back from the store the other day and found a package from UPS at my door. I took it inside and though I didn't order anything or recognize the sender, I opened it. Turns out it was an electromagnetic transducer. I tried calling the phone number on the return address, but it says that the number is no longer in service. I don't want this thing and I don't know what to do with the damn thing. Advice?
dude you got a nifty science tool. its used to test the make up of a material, you have a star trek device right there. can i have it?
Sure, for 30 dollars American.

i say we look at this from a rational, point-and-click videogame style; touch the object to everything you see, and see if something happens!

Go find yourself a janitor and with the power of the transducer send him into space so you can test your Dr. Doom psychoweaponry on him and monitor his mind.

Strap it to the bonnet of your car, find a nice flat and long stretch of road and accelerate to 88 miles per hour.

Wh-what's an electromagnetic transducer? An can it power the delorean?
A transducer is a device that converts energy from one form into another. Logically, an electromagnetic transducer either converts electromagnetic energy into another form of energy or converts energy into electromagnetic energy. Though I've worked out it's basic function, I don't know it's actual function.
So that's what it does. Well I say keep your eyes. Open. If you see some men in black, a weird phone call from a robotic person asking you about the item, or a bewildered shia la beuf running in your direction I think you need to get out of there.

Someone probably sent it to your address to throw the scent off of them, knowing that it would be piss easy to break in late at night and take it because they know you are a pussy.

Which kind of electromagnetic transducer is it, the funky sensor one or the cheap buzzer kind. You see the makes sound kind costs like 0.01c in bulk.

no. without the software to use it its worthless. not to mention you could take the money and run off without shipping the package like people on ebay do.

EDIT: you can donate it to a university for a tax deduction or something.
It didn't come with any software and I would never do anything like that. My word is my bond, as I am bound by the rules of social decorum. But you've insulted my honor, $40.

Sounds like there's an angry mad scientist out there somewhere. I recommend Craigslist, though I've never used Ebay myself, I've heard they take a cut.
Edit' I think you need that to fix the power-plant.

If that doesn't work, try combining it with other items in your inventory.

If Stargate SG1 taught me anything its that anything remotely scientific sounding can be used to blow up a star. Get to it.

EDIT:I am looking at the responses and I love what hugely irresponsible dumbasses we all are!
