As most of you probably never heard about, my school KPHS has been the topic of national news.
If you are in America and watch ABC news regularly, you'll know that my school has an alleged "fight club" following behind the school. Everybody knew about it and a lot of people (myself included) enjoyed spectating.
There's no link, but you can find it on the ABC news database.
So, has this (or anything similar) happened to others on the Escapist?

Can't say it has. My school just had some kid sue his bullies.
No offense, but is it really wise to plaster your school over the internet?

The High School I used to go to (and my brother still attends) had a similar thing. Our trained monkey of a superintendent apparently thinks it's a racist thing because one of the three Black kids at the school was in the fight club.

My school had a "fight club", drug gangs, gang fights, gang shootings, teen pregnancies and a bake sale. Outrage sucks.

Do they use clubs, nets and tridents, 'cause that would be an interesting watch.

My high school had pretzels and hotdogs during lunch. That was about as special as it got.

You do have a point, but it's been plastered on national news. It couldn't hurt more than if it didn't have news coverage.
EDIT: disregard this post, my computer keeps being foolish.

My school had a fight club too, more recently students had been posting the fights online but they were removed.

The strangest thing to happen at my school though, was when a student mentioned he had a foot fetish and his words got twisted around so many times that the schoolboard suspended him on the grounds that he threatened to commit "Racial Genocide"... I'm still unsure how that happened.

The only thing that happened to my school was some stupid kid said he was threatened by some stranger with a gun. And this happened during those school shooting sprees in America two years back.

On the bright side he stopped all school in the counties for about 2 hours. It was a great break.

As to sueing, the only reason it got attention drawn to it was because a senior got his ass handed to him by a freshman. So he goes to tell his mommy that he was jumped (when he did decide to fight, also called the freshman the N word).

Fight Club is something we'd talk about doing at my High School, but we never actually did it. Not enough interest, plus my school population consisted of 90% nerds so the fights would be... actually, possibly awesome.

My old high school didn't have much going for it except for it's awesome theater program which has gotten us national recognition in the past. But the director then has since passed and now we ain't got shitus because of the superintendent's rules on censoring.

The School next to mine had a few people with guns skulking round the building. But the worst mine had was a year long bout of rocket terrorism where year 10's started firing rockets at whatever building they felt like.

No weapons, but that would be cool (if a little scary for the people around the fighters, and obviously terrifying for the fighters themselves.

My school managed to...

A.

Allow a girl to be hospitalized by a boy at a school bad mitten meet and then claim that as it was off school grounds they couldn't do anything, then the girl was told to stop spreading lies about what happened by one of the heads of school when she answer peoples question on why she had missed a week of school and was covered in bruises. That same head of school stood up in assembly as this girl sat there bruised to hell and said that rumors were exagerated because he had only hit her once when really it had been multiple times and then kicking her on the ground. (they were in grade 9 and the boy's family were good friends with this head of school.)

B.

Allowed a grade 5 girl to be beaten up by two 17-18 year olds twice in two weeks and only did something when the parents asked her why she didn't want to go to school any more and threatened to sue when they found out what had happened.

C.

My best friend there was a Singaporean guy who went by the tag of BlazerKnight.
He scored better than half the school at the end of the year even though alot of his stuff was late in but they then sent him home. (this is the same head of school from A.) this is so she could have international students that she liked take his place and also saved a place for another person who was leaving of her own free will.
He later took his own life because he missed his friends in Tas so much and the pressure to do well in Singapore got him down. That was why he got sent here in the first place.

D.

told my girlfriend it was her own fault she was bullied for not trying to fit in.
This is the most expensive school in Tasmania who also have a great reputation due to being a "Quaker" school.
The Quakers of Tasmania have distanced themselves from the school because of how bad it has gotten.

Think your school has problems?

My secondary school made national news a few times because of a run of teachers/teaching assistants having relationships with students, some underage. I think there were about 5 overall, though one of them did it after leaving for a different school.

Having had 3 convicted sex offenders for teachers doesn't exactly give a great impression.

i live in california so most people get along reely well we dont hav some kind of caste system at our skool like there is no jocks, no nerds, none of that really theres just the english speakers and the spanish speakers and we dont mix often but alot of times people just fight for fun, because thats what it is its just a brief scuffle to let out ur anger and if you get caught a 4 day vacation
