Pretty much the only thing interesting that happened at my school was me. I mean sure there were some deaths related to drunk driving and such but hey, that happens in every high school (even middle to sometimes) so while it's tragic it's unfortunately nothing special. Why was I interesting? Because I was the only Muslim in my graduating class and there were none others in a long time and the 2 or 3 others came later when I was close to ending high school. This was a small town Southern/Republican/Catholic (primarily, not everyone of course) high school where you could count the amount of non-white people on your fingers(94.6% white). Basically full of intolerant rednecks. I was beaten up, slandered, hate-crimed, alienated, etc; other than me being everyones target for abuse/hate (physical and mental) my school was a somewhat high class whitey school full of stupid Wiggers. Certainly nothing compared to the schools you guys above listed, I would've loved to go to a dangerous school in a big city full of somewhat real gangsters instead of wannabes (sounds weird I know), I am from a third-world country after all so I would find it normal.

In my freshman year, a couple of my friends made up their own humor blog (this was before it was even called a "blog") in which anyone who he gave access to could post their entries. We never really told anyone about it, but apparently the site had a following of about 50 people, maybe more. One day the token girl of our group started joking about using "I'm pregnant" as an excuse to get out of things in life. Sure, it was insensitive and a bit off-color, but it's not like she was going to use any of those excuses. We spent all of lunch in hysterics over it, and later that day, one of my other friends decided to blog about the joke.

This is where things went wrong. Apparently the people who read the blog didn't have the same sense of humor about it and thought that the girl was actually pregnant even though the blog entry clearly stated she wasn't. People start talking and rumors spread like the plague. The next day, she gets absolutely bombarded by people asking if she was really pregnant. She got distressed and went to the school administration to get the kids off her back. The administrators decided to cut it off at the source. The guy that wrote the blog entry was suspended, the guy that ran the site was also suspended, and he was also forced to take down the site on threat of expulsion.

He took them to court, which made the news in our area, but lost and had to take down his website. Yeah, that whole thing sucked.

As most of you probably never heard about, my school KPHS has been the topic of national news.
If you are in America and watch ABC news regularly, you'll know that my school has an alleged "fight club" following behind the school. Everybody knew about it and a lot of people (myself included) enjoyed spectating.
There's no link, but you can find it on the ABC news database.
So, has this (or anything similar) happened to others on the Escapist?

What, what? A school in my district has a Fight Club, and we don't get in trouble for it, why did you guys?
I think because my school is in the suburbs, so they make really big shit about stuff like this.

My school managed to...

A.

Allow a girl to be hospitalized by a boy at a school bad mitten meet and then claim that as it was off school grounds they couldn't do anything, then the girl was told to stop spreading lies about what happened by one of the heads of school when she answer peoples question on why she had missed a week of school and was covered in bruises. That same head of school stood up in assembly as this girl sat there bruised to hell and said that rumors were exagerated because he had only hit her once when really it had been multiple times and then kicking her on the ground. (they were in grade 9 and the boy's family were good friends with this head of school.)

B.

Allowed a grade 5 girl to be beaten up by two 17-18 year olds twice in two weeks and only did something when the parents asked her why she didn't want to go to school any more and threatened to sue when they found out what had happened.

C.

My best friend there was a Singaporean guy who went by the tag of BlazerKnight.
He scored better than half the school at the end of the year even though alot of his stuff was late in but they then sent him home. (this is the same head of school from A.) this is so she could have international students that she liked take his place and also saved a place for another person who was leaving of her own free will.
He later took his own life because he missed his friends in Tas so much and the pressure to do well in Singapore got him down. That was why he got sent here in the first place.

D.

told my girlfriend it was her own fault she was bullied for not trying to fit in.
This is the most expensive school in Tasmania who also have a great reputation due to being a "Quaker" school.
The Quakers of Tasmania have distanced themselves from the school because of how bad it has gotten.

Think your school has problems?
Yes, Teen pregnancies, stoners openly smoking in the halls, along with teachers, multiple fight clubs, a student recently died in a car crash, a kid was found drinking bleach when his mom died (still in hospital) and a tonne more.

Could just set it up somewhere else, it also sounds like a good way to bet and make money.
I've actually had ideas like that. Our school is really close to a forest with trails running through it. We fought on the trails originally, but we could do it further down where we wouldn't get caught.

My old school was fairly sane, but some funny stuff happenned. For instance, a year 11 was put on suspension after a gang of year 7s attacked him and he broke a lot of their bones. I didn't know the guy well, but apparently he was into MMA. I laughed.

A couple of years back one of the sport team captians punched a fellow studnt out in a chemistry lesson. Was he put in a detention? No. The head of chemistry did however compliment him on the quality of his punch.

Also, the head of economics formed a club. Offically it's a "Mixed Martial Arts" club, what they actually do is spar for the duration, the staff also take part in this. So far there has been 2 broken legs, a shattered wrist, 2 cracked ribs and 4 broken noses. They started in September.

My old HS got two bomb threats and the library was flooded, ( it was in the basement) in the same year.

I want to go to your school.
I see nothing wrong with the club. As long as the people taking part are doing so voluntarily and know the risks involved.
It's like what a military academy does around where I live. If 2 kids are fighting, they give them boxing gloves after school on friday, let them box it out under supervision, and then everyone goes home and gets on with life.

Yeah, our school had one and I'm british. Gangs formed and it was stupid. I still have like 4 scars on my cheek and a rib not set right because it has bits missing so they had to use metal. But fuck me it was fun.

The thing is, I go to a grammar school. We've got a royal charter for our founding, that means that only an act of parliment can close us down.

We call the head of economics, "The Hill". He's about 5'6" tall and about 3' at the shoulders.

Nah. Most exciting thing that happened at my school was a kid got expelled for smoking weed on school property (the dumbass) and came back either the next day and lit his locker on fire.

So is mine. I live in Sarasota, Florida.

(It's old people central, the only thing here that even remotely resembles the size of a city is the senior discount at the Bob Evan's)

Then there was this time a science teacher got bored with the crappy quantities of chemicals that you're allowed to mix in class so he put in about 10 times as much which caused an explosion you could hear half way across the school. He got in a little bit of trouble for that.
I have a question.

Did he have a PHD, and if so, was his last name Insano?

OT: not much bad happens at my school, other than some guys who act like total jackasses to me, and as soon as I try to defend myself, start acting like I was the one who started it. Otherwise, they people at my school are just annoying retards who don't get the point of my Youtube videos.
Edit: some kid had Marijuana in his locker and was sent to Juvie. He's back this year, but he's in the STARS Program (a program for the misbehaved kids... and the kid who reported him to school officials, for some reason) in the school's annex.

Our school has fights, drugs, pregnancy, assaults, sexual assaults, people having sex on campus all the time and theft. Instead of being concerned about any of that, the jackoffs at my school are all outraged that someone coughed really loud at a presentation we saw today about drunk driving during a pause.

Sometimes the people around me, even those people I consider friends otherwise, disgust me with their lack of any sense of priority.

My old school had some students who study Spanish go on a trip to Mexico and a few came back with swine flu. All over the news and everything even though they came back to the country during a 2 week holiday from school so never actually made it to school with it. Heaps of dumb ass parents made their kids stay at home for a week.
