This is why I keep money in my shoes.

i have a aunt that does that too. she sometimes walks like a pirate when she visits us and we get some cash as presents.
i brought her one of those slim and easily concealable moneybelts......

..and she uses it now to carry her make-up.

Ha! That's fantastic.

I'm not sure I'd use the money belt either. It makes it more obvious where your money is (in my mind, anyway).

Also, I don't just pour the coins into my shoes and limp around, I have a tiny pouch that I put stuff in first. =P

I feel you bro. I lost my wallet recently... gotta go go and ask some stores if the found it. My debit card hasn't been used so that MIGHT be a good sign or maybe however found it just isn't using it to be careful. It had everything in it drivers license, SSN written on a scrap of paper, my student numbers at the technical colleges I'm applying to if a medium height blond man found it he could essentially become me.

So far I have never had my purse stolen, but I once left it at a friends house when I went to visit and I didn't notice until I was at home, which was a problem as she lives in a different county from me and at the time I thought I had lost it or it had been stolen. During that time I felt sick, panickey and a little stupid for losing track of it, so what you were feeling seems to be pretty normal. In the end, about 10 minutes after I had cancelled my bank cards my friend called saying that I had left it on her coffee table. I felt relieved and a little stupid

The trick is to have your wallet in your pocket sideways, it makes it makes it way harder to take out (for both you and anyone else for that matter.)
Had a dick wad try to pick pocket me on the bus, elbowed him as hard as I could and got off on the next stop.
People who steal are absolute shit and deserve to have their hands cut off with rusty spoons.
