Well if she has a wii and likes fighting games why not Super Smash Bros Brawl for the Wii?

Or even the first Devil May Cry PS2.

And how about Virtua Fighter 4 PS2.

(disclamer i have not played Devil May cry or Virtua Fighter 4 but i recommend them cause there pretty higly reviwed.)

Wow people, he can say what he wants - your acting really childish. A list:

Devil May Cry 2
Virtua Fighter 4
Crash Bandicoot (theres a lot of them - platformer)
Any DW game
Soul Calibur 2

(all for PS2)

All about the Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors. They've even got a crossover in the form of Warriors Orochi, though I'm not sure if that's for the PS2/Wii, I only know it's for the 360.

Zone of the Enders series is very hack-and-slash. Fast paced giant robots fighting each other and it's easy enough to pick up. The first one is still pretty common and really cheap (£2-£10 generally, second hand), but good luck finding the second one for anything under £35. It's rarer than the rarest of rare things.

I'll also echo the Chaos Legion suggestion above. Only played a demo but it did seem very very hack and slash, easy enough to get into as well I thought.

You could introduce her to Kingdom Hearts as well if she can put up with/likes Disney characters. The RPG area is pretty lenient on the whole for the most part and it's got a combat system which has a fair bit of hacking and also slashing. Both are on the PS2 as I recall. Definetly worth a look if she's looking to branch out into other games at some point.

Oh, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl for your wii if you don't already have it. Fun little fighting game, though I find it's hard to enjoy it to the fullest extent without at least two other people playing with you.

Shining Force EXA turned away from the strategic turned based fighting that Shining Force usually does (I'm guessing, Shining Force EXA was the first one of the series that I played) and has slash and hack gameplay. It actually suffered from a bit of slow down on my PS2 when I would have over 20 monsters surrounding me, but it was still fun to completely decimate their numbers. You can play as the male character Toma and fight with one handed swords or heavy swords/hammers/spears, or as the female character Cecilia and use magic or crossbows. Both are fun to do. The only things I would complain about are the voice acting is not very good (the main male at least gets much better by the end), but thankfully you can turn it off except for the cut scenes, so that will eliminate about 90% of the voice acting. The other is that some of the locations get a bit monotonous (which is a let down considering the first area is beautiful).

On the other hand, these two issues are always popping up in Dynasty Warriors, so if she doesn't mind that (plus the anime look) then I heartily recommend Shining Force EXA. Oh, the equipment stats might be a bit mind boggling at first too.

Wait, one more! XD The two Castlevania games for the PS2 were hack and slashy. Of course, there's a lot of pain in the butt back tracking too.

No offense but it's nice if you just edit your post to add new stuff.
Onimusha 2. Thats well good.
Blood will tell, that's mindless and fun, bit onimusha, though inferior.

Ack, sorry. I didn't even remember to do that. Forgetful of me. Sorry again!

Maybe some of the God of War series would be a good choice.

And why is everyone acting all net-nanny on the guy? I'm here to discuss games and the like, not fix people's relationships. Seriously, the guy is trying to get a game his girlfriend will like, leave it at that.

Okami. Available for a mere $20 new. Took me about 80 hours to beat, and combat is basically button mashing.

And to add to the other side of the conversation. If you want some alone time, I don't think anyone is going to get upset over that. I think what gets people into a tizzy is using the phrase "Get her to shut up" when referring to your girlfriend.

Apologies to Tynian for the following derailment:

You (Ago Iterum) complain about how people 'troll' (read: Disagree with you) on your thread, and then you proceed to throw down a troll-like comment such as the one I quoted? Good Sir I do believe you are a Grade-A hypocrite.

Ignoring the offensive chap up there; I second the God of War suggestion, assuming she's not bothered by blood or sex or stuff like that.

It was a joke, I didn't mean anything by it.

I second Amnestic's recommendation for ZoE. That game was crazy fun. If you want to try her on something else, try introducing her to Ratchet and Clank. That series will keep her well occupied.

Grab Mystic Heroes for the Gamecube at some used store. Lots of hack and slash.

That makes you look like a prick. Seriously, it's condescending, dismissive, and ultimately entirely rude. I'm not trying to tell you how to live your life, but dang, dude. Did she kick your puppy recently or something?
This makes you look angry. Seriously, it's pathetic, and ironically more condescending then he was. I'm not telling you to stop acting superior to members with 19 posts, but dang, dude. Did your parents ever teach you how to take a joke?
He's got every right to be angry at least.

And please, copying someone is possibly the most childish thing you can do.
So when you think of the absolutely most childest act in your head, copying somebody stands out?

Yes.
