Skies of Arcadia is my absolute favorite game for the Dreamcast, I strongly recommend you look it up.
Fur Fighters is also pretty sweet but I haven't played it in over 10 years now so I can't be sure how tinted my nostalgia glasses are in this case.

I haven't seen or heard about the dream cast in years but i remember a couple games that were good through my nostalgic kid eyes. I would definitely recommend the crazy taxi games if you're into a really low tech burnout style racing game and against popular belief the sonic adventure games. I know 3D sonic gets a lot of hate but those weren't bad. Just skip the fishing section and you'll love the chao gardens.

This user speaks the uptmost of truths! Skies of Arcadia is a fun JRPG with and interesting plot, and and interesting leveling system. The only thing I think is the deteriment of the original Dreamcast version is the rate of random battles is ridiculous. The game was ported to the GameCube later on as Skies of Arcadia Legends, which contained all the DLC that was in the game. Yep, Skies of Arcadia had DLC for game-long sidequests as well as new hidden bosses. Overall, it's an excellent game that really needs a damn HD port already... >.>

Other games include:
-Sonic Adventure games (sorta self explanatory)
-Tony Hawk Pro Skaters 1 & 2 (best graphical port of the first two games hands down)
-Rayman 2: The Great Escape (same as Tony Hawk, it's the best port audio wise and visually)
-Crazy Taxi 1 & 2
-Powerstone 2 (extremely fun is the only thing I can think of right now)
-Typing of the Dead (the Dreamcast had a keyboard peripheral that was great with this)
-Chu Chu Rocket
-Samba De Amigo (best version is here, also had DLC for new songs. Avoid the Wii port)
-Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (pretty version of Legacy of Kain)
-Ikaruga (bullet hell shooter, quite fun)
-Marvel vs Capcom 2 (best version is on the Dreamcast...good luck getting it for a reasonable price though)
-Powerstone 1 (fun)
-Jet Set/Grind Radio (unique game with amazing music. It has been ported to modern consoles/PC though)

I love my Dreamcast and still firmly believe that it was the complete lack of any copy protection that killed it before anything else.

Well there are a few factors that killed the Dreamcast. One, SEGA had a lot of ill will towards them with their massive screw-ups with the Saturn, 32X, and SEGA CD (more 32X and SEGA CD). Then their marketing in the 90's was rather terrible, leading to the whole issue with the Saturn's North American launch which helped out Sony. Most importantly, the PS2 was announced. The announcement of the PS2 killed a lot of momentum for the Dreamcast because of the hype surrounding the PS1. It was fully killed in Japan when the PS2 launched because Sony also advertised the PS2 as a cheap DVD player, which at the time in Japan DVD players were about $500 or so. So combine that with the fact that the PS2 also can play games, and that sealed SEGA's doom as a console manufacturer.

But we will always remember the Dreamcast, the amazing little system that was way ahead of it's time.

Most of these were mentioned already but I'd recommend the following:

- Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2
- Skies of Arcadia
- Jet Grind Radio
- Power Stone 2
- Soul Calibur
- Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
- Virtua Tennis 2 (I'm not sure how well this one held up but I used to love it)
- Rez

Neronium pretty much covered it for mine. Jet Set Radio, the Sonic Adventures, the Powerstones and the Crazy Taxis were all incredible, and the Rayman 2 port was by far the best console port. Will back up Redworld on Fur Fighters as well - especially as it has splitscreen multiplayer. Something to switch to after the tier arguments have broken out in Smash Bros.

Oh, one further suggestion - if you're a fan of the Super Meat Boy/Rayman Origins style reflex platformer, try and track down a copy of Super Magnetic Neo. Fun but insanely hard, with a bouncy and maddeningly catchy little soundtrack, and a couple of cellular automata for good measure!

MDK2. It's a tough-as-nails third-person shooter with slightly odd controls (you use the face buttons to make your character walk and strafe), but once you get used to them it's a brilliant title. You can also get it on PC and PS2, but the Dreamcast version is the best. The PC version is good, but rather than using checkpoints you can save whenever you want which is both annoying because you can lose a lot of progress if you don't manually save often, and you can spam it. The PS2 version significantly nerfed the difficulty and has glowing arrows pointing at the bosses' weak points :\

Also, Elemental Gimmick Gear. It's an adventure game with gorgeous, hand-painted top-down areas, though boss battles are fought in a 3D third-person arena.

I know other people have said Chu-Chu Rocket, but of course they have. It's fucking awesome!

You also need Space Channel 5 in your life.

Why?

Because Ulala, Goddammit! She's only the greatest funky space reporter, and she has the grooves to stop some crazy-funy shenanigans from happening! So yeah, it's a rhythm game, and it's an awesome one, too. :D

came in here to say just that. I had one friend who had this game and we would spend the night all the time at his place just to play this game. It had a pretty much direct rip off of a super saiyan, but fuck was it fun dropping the spirit bomb on the arena

Grandia 2 is another great JRPG for the Dreamcast. It was remade for the PS2 but apparently the PS2 version has worse loading times...Other than Grandia 2, I have a lot of fun with games like...

Crazy Taxi (mission-based, arcade racing...kinda)
Daytona USA (arcade racing)
Hydro Thunder (arcade racing game)
Jet Grind Radio (Graffiti-em-up...like Sunset Overdrive without the apocalypse and in the style of an extreme sports game)
Power Stone 1&2 (3D anime, 1v1 fighting games with destructible scenery, weapons and, a power-up gimmick)
Sonic Adventure 1&2 (Good 3D Sonic games)
Soul Caliber (weapon-based 1v1, 3D fighting game)
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1&2 (arcade Skateboarding game...a lot more fun than it sounds)

Space Channel 5 is hella fun. Colorful and silly, yet deceptively difficult. And Michael Jackson is in it. If you like rhythm games, it's a must-play.
Personally, I recommend Part 2 over Part 1. It's overall a better game. Separating the Attack and Rescue beams into two different calls (rather than using two different buttons but both being signaled by "Chu") alone cut down significantly on the unfairness.

People already mentioned Grandia 2 and Skies of Arcadia... so all I can add is Evolution and Evolution 2.
Both are your standard JRPG fare, but it's pretty damn funny since every character is named after weapons (in Japanese names were in English, so the English dubbed version is filled with gems like Mag Launcher, Linear Cannon, Gre Nade, and Eugene... I shit you not.

A lot of it's been said, but of my personal collection, games I can recommend are:

-Crazy Taxi
-House of the Dead 2
-Sonic Adventure 1/2
-Rayman 2
-Resident Evil 2
-Soul Calibur
-Toy Commander

Admittedly many of these are on other systems, but I'd rank those among the top of said Dreamcast games I happen to own.

Someone didn't read all the games in the list I posted above I see. :3
Although if he were to get the Dreamcast version, he would have to break the region coding on his Dreamcast to play it since the Dreamcast wasn't region free. Not to mention the prices for Dreamcast Ikaruga are often times more than the GameCube release price.

Well, there wasn't much there. But it had the only Berserk game ever, so 10/10 best console ever made.

Skies of Arcadia is quite the legend, so it's basically a requirement. I know RE2 was of a higher quality on it, and there's always Sonic Adventure 1 & 2.
