Guess what? The police believed the 14 chavs over us. They said i'd started it and had hit one of them for no reason. Blatent bullshit, the police believed it, never even got to court. THAT is how fucked up the justice system is.

Nah dude, the case was dropped. We'd tried to get something done about it, the simple fact there was more of them lying about it provided them with a cover story. Nothing could be done. 14 or 3, who are they going to believe, especially with no extra witnesses. Apparently, them having previous convictions doesn't mean anything to the system.

I was walking home last night and saw a group of people that approached me. They literally stole my shoes and were about to steal my wallet and throw me off this bridge. I got out of their control and managed to jump off it and land on a train.

How fucked up are the times we live in that random people seriously attempt to kill someone for shoes and a damn wallet?

Has anyone else had an experience being mugged, or attempted mugging? I'm fairly proficient in Krav Maga. But taking on five people at once is quite difficult. I managed to submit the big guy, but some other dude repeatedly punched me in the head until I retreated.

I jumped off a 30 foot bridge, on to a train, so about a 20 foot drop. Jumped off, and walked home 4 miles in my socks. Sorry for the profanity, but I seriously think this is messed up.

Dude, that is fucked up. I hear ya man. I do aikido, and we have a drill called " ronduri" which means " freestyle" where there are 3 guys after you. sometimes it gets higher, but 3 guys is the start. NOthing has happened to me, but my uncle (who had come for a holiday) once got held up at a bridge with his friend, these two guys came up on a motorbike, and pressed a gun to his head, took his wallet and phone and rode away. He tells me the worst part was that he lost all these girls numbers..

Anyways, the cops did eventually catch the guy, he was in a market when my uncle saw him, and he immediately called the cops. It took 5 of them to wrestle the guy to the ground.

A guy tried to rape me once at a taxi rank and I nearly got arrested the next day for GBH... Thankgod for cctv or id probably be in jail right now :/ I was a blubbering mess the next day but I think adrenaline kicked in at the time.

I live in a relatively safe place but stuff like that does still happen. I'd just say be careful where you are walking on your own and make sure the police get involved, If these people are willing to kill even after they have you stuff then they need to be locked up.

You're pretty resilient for fighting off 5 guys and escaping by jumping off a fricken bridge. It is unfortunate that they made off with your shoes and yes, the world is a strange and messed up place if 5 people gang up on someone for their shoes. I personally don't like going out at night, especialy by myself. I would also consider carrying a weapon if you need to defend yourself, especially if you're going out alone during the night. If you don't want a lethal weapon, use a non-lethal one instead such as pepper-spray or stun-gun.
